I have dark elbows and knees. Can someone please tell me a cure! I tried rubbing lemon (doesent help) My underarms are a lil dark too. Hope U will help me saniya replied. dear glory,
first of all,tell me for how long have u been using lemon on ur elbows?and for how long did u rub it everytime u used it?u know,it takes quite a while for natural remedies to work but the results r amazing and free from side effects as well as long term.ur elbows are dark due to 2 reasons:
1)friction.
2)dead cells.
while there is nothing much u can do about friction since u have to bend and raise ur arms quite often,u can definitely get rid of the dead cells which are concealing the fresh cells on ur elbows.
to remove dead cells,exfoliate ur elbows.the best exfoliator is lemon juice+sugar in the ratio 1:3.use this mixture thrice a week and gently scrub ur elbows with it till the sugar granules melt.wash off and apply s heavy moisturiser like st.ives aloe vera.(use a moisturiser for extra dry skin).if u prefer a homemade one,u can massage malai(milk cream)+honey+almond oil.this will also lighten the elbows besides moisturising them.remember,all this will take a bit of time to show results so plzzz be patient.u will start noticing difference if ur very observant within 2 weeks.in one month,ur elbows will have lightened a bit and in 3 months,hopefully,u will get the desired results.no pain no gain.
please don't use skin lightening creams as they have very harmful chemicals which damage the skin.also,always keep ur elbows massaged with oil to reduce the friction.almond oil or coconut oil r best because they also lighten the skin.always keep ur elbows oiled.
as for ur underarms,if ur using depilatory creams,or shaving them,then stop doing that and start waxing.also,wax ur elbows once in 15 days.u will immediately notice lighter skin because waxing removes a great deal of dead skin.please don't forget to moisturise after waxing.this is very important. coming back to ur underarms,don't use deodrants/sprays,etc and while bathing,u can exfoliate them with lemon and sugar and then,apply moisturiser.also,keep them oiled too because they get dark due to friction sometimes.i hope all this helps!
