this is hard for me to talk about because im pretty embarrassed. first of all im 16 and i have csp (compulsive skin picking disorder)...my face and back have mild acne and my arms and chest have keratosis. my skin doesnt look that bad unless im picking at it...lately ive been picking a lot and i dont know why and no matter how hard i try i always end up starting again. im really worried because i think that if im ever intimate with anyone, they'll see the redness and/or scabs from my picking and i dont want to feel insecure anymore. i'd like to think that they'd accept me and my disorder, but i really cant even accept it myself. if anyone has any advice or can relate, please let me know! marg replied. it's almost that we have same problem...but there is one doctor (my GP-general practitioner) who diagnosed my skin problem right...that is eczema and he prescribed me Betnovate Cream. Since then I don't have problem in picking the acne-like thing. You will see the result a day or two...once all acne-like thing disappear, continue applying the cream every night then alternate night, then 2x a week, then once a week, don't stop it abruptly because the cream has steroids. You can only have the cream as prescribed by the physician. I don't have the same problem anymore ( I suffered for that problem for 14 years, till I met my new GP and diagnosed my skin problem correctly and prescribed correct cream. I've always keep my cream ready as eczema is an allergy skin disease, you will have it during change of weather condition or if you are under stress, thats why, once you pick at one..you'll pick all of them...GOODLUCK and may you be happy like me!
