Due Date Club October 2007:low HCG levels rising slowly

Hi ladies,

I am from nov due date club just wanted to share my query,I hope I get some help here. I would like to know whether you all have gone through any blood tests for the HCG level. Here in the US, I think they are overcautious and if it does not increase in that standard level chart they keep doing blood test one after the other.

The first time I did my HCG test I was in 4th week, had just missed my periods. That time my Hcg level came 60, Then they did after 48 hours it was 100 and now again yestr they did a third test and its gone up to 225. But still the nurse was telling me that it is low. It must be around 500-10,000 in this week,5th week. Has anyone gone through any such exps? My HCG is increasing which is a good sign they said. But, they´ ll keep doing my tests untill it comes in the standard levels.

Can anyone please tell me what were your levels in first few weeks. It seems the HCg sometimes increases slowly in early pregnancy and then shoots up afterwards. Iam worried, please share some exps. I have no cramps or any bleeding. As far as symptoms are concerned I just have gases and sore breasts. I am in my 6th week now. Tomm have my fourth hcg test and also a U/S.

Thanks
Ruhi.

Dear Ruhi,
Hi. First of all congratulations for your pregnancy. As far as the hcg levels are concerned i don' t exactly remember mine as i am at my mom' s home at the moment for the weekend and my reports are not with me. The hcg does increase as pregnancy progresses but had it been alarming they would have put u onto some medication. mine too was on the borderline when i did it in my 4th week and so i was put onto weekly injections. the name is CORION 5000mg. i am supposed to take this every week for a month and then go in for an usg. Also i don' t think you must bother by asking anyone else their levels because the range of each pathology lab cud be diff depending on their methodology. trust your dr. He would have sounded you if there would have been anything alarming as they can' t risk a low hcg. It is imp for implantation of the foetus. So i think all is fine. Don' t worry.
take care and enjoy your pregnancy...
lots of love and luck...Tina.

-A common cause of blood in an infant' s stool is a slight anal tear (fissure) from baby straining with the passage of the stool. The small amount of blood from an anal fissure tends to look like a red streak on the outside of the stool.
