My son is 18 months old and he too can not walk without support. He can run holding one hand but not without. I guess some kids are slow and our kids are some of them. Our doct is little bit concerned and so suggested therapy. Therapy will be starting in 2 weeks and will let you know some tips later.

well jancy my daughter was 1 year few days, she was quick at everything she started dancing at 8 months age and she had her first teeth when she was 5.5 months, but when she started walking she didnot walk without support, she use to walk on bed without support on table without support as she thought if she falls she will not hurt herself, we tried to make her walk on the floor, but she didnot, one day we went to some marriage and there were carpets and dance floors, at that time she was 1 yrs. 6 days old she started walking and even runing on the carpet without support we all were amazed becoz it was her fear of getting hurt and on carpet she thought she will not hurt herself and from that day onwards she is walking and running and yes she is very naughty

dont worry my kid started walking around 20 months old now shes 3 yrs. she crawled till 18 months. then by holding she standsup but she didnt even try for one feet till 20 months. i trainned her on walker,by holding her hands nothing works, but shes very normal health. no problem with her health .so her Ped asked me not to consult any therapist and asked me to wait for few months. so suddenly one day at night without support she herself stoodup from the floor & started running from that day onwards started walking without support. so each child differ so dont compare ur child with other kid, if he's a normal baby he'll walk may be little bit slow but u keep on training him. ok. All the best!

Hi Jancy

This is quite normal in kids now a days.. In fact my mom says I started walking after 2.5 years.. I myself have seen a relative's kid who walked after 2 years. So dont worry!

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
