Baby Sitters and Creches:6-7 month Infant in Day Care

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me, how safe is to send 6 - 7 months old baby to Creche or day care center. As me an my hubby works and it is nearly impossible for us to leave the job and take care of the baby so trying to put him on to day care and 1-2 times i will go and see him from office.
Can anyone pls tell me your experience on it.
