Hi

I am 16 weeks pregnant and I got a call from the my OB yesterday telling me that my TSH levels are abnormal( 8.3) .They did a blood test on my first visit(5-6 weeks ) to OB but didnot inform me anything and on my last visit( last week) doc saw report was not normal so asked me to have the test again. In the meantime I didnot take any medicines.
I am supposed to see a doc for this today .But would like to know how much damage it has caused to my baby, by not taking medicines.
I trusted my OB fully and did't think they would be careless , my first delivery was through this OB only.
I am having sleepless nights.I would be happpy if any one can tell me how much problem I might have and now what should be the best way to handle things properly .

Thanks
PR

I am also a little hypothyroid, ie the tsh levels are on the higher side. You consult your GP and start taking thyroid hormone supplement. This is important, because the thyroid hormones are necessary during pregnancy.
