Subject:  Re:Arun Rama for five questions

Hi Arun,
First of all congrats for wounderful questions. Discussed with my brother Ravi, Parents and my barber during my recent \" machine cut\" . Based on all their brains I am answering the five questions as below. I too eagerly await Kiran' s answers.
(i) Does handheld machines cause wounds and blood? In my experience it is not
so.
Definitely not. The bloody wounds are due to shaking while razoring. However, one should learn to enjoy the feel of handheld machines, their sound, soothing coolness of dettol lotion before razoring and the process of razoring itself. It is better to think of nice complements that you would get from your parents, relatives, friends, classmates and more importantly appreciative looks from strangers (My brother Ravi likes this very much).
(ii) While waiting in a saloon bench and after the barber chair is empty which one
is more preferred – to go ONLY after the barber invites OR going and sitting?
My father says NOT to wait for the barber’s invitation. Do you agree? I am
confused.
Please feel free. Going and sitting shows the confidence between yourself and the barber. Please don’t allow the barber to waste his energy. In my experience going and sitting helps in better machine cut experiences. Further, the way you enter the saloon and respond to the greetings of the barber is equally important. Myself and Ravi always give a broad smile which helps getting better, longer and more involvement from the barber. These small things are very important for a machine cut.
(iii) To what extent a barber of a comparable age (such as in my case the barber
Mahesh who is of my age) results in a better machine cut experience?
To a very very large extent. But, all cannot be that lucky. Arun, you are lucky in this aspect. Younger barbers tend to be more enthusiastic. In my case being a girl getting cut in a men’s saloon both older and younger barbers give equal attention. Since, Ravi goes to saloon every month he does not prefer any one barber. It is his experience that relatively new barbers tend to cut with more enthusiasm, whereas better cut comes from older barbers. Better to avoid the middle-aged ones.
(iv) I want to know why I feel really nice to have a machine cut especially when
my classmate and haircutter Mahesh himself sports the machine cut? It is my
experience that Mahesh becomes very happy as I appreciate his machine cut
while he is doing my machine cut. His affection is shown in longer duration of
“razoring” and “appreciative look at me after my machine cut” (that he has
learnt from his father, Gunda). In fact, Ajay (my neighbour’s son) was
“turned on” when he saw Mahesh with a short machine cut. Have you
experience anything similar?
So far I have not experienced. It is a matter of coincidence. I can only fantasize. Ravi likes such occasions. But, from Ravi’s experience, the barbers, especially the younger ones tend to be craving for appreciation of their haircuts. If barber looks nearly smart when he sports a machine cut it is one’s duty to appreciate the same. Arun, you have been doing the right thing and therefore the machine cut experience is better.
(v) I don’t know why Mahesh becomes excited when he starts my machine cut
and likes to sing Telugu songs while doing my machine cuts?.
This shows the bond between you and Mahesh. He enjoys machine cutting your hair as much as you enjoy the process.

Hi Kiran,
Thanks for your moral support. You are very correct as Ajay is very shy by nature.Since I keep on appreciating Ajay, he is getting confidence in me. He says he will accompany me to the saloon every month.I requested him to maintain the medium cut for some more time till he becomes confident to go short.

Five questions are really troubling me and they are :
(i) Does handheld machines cause wounds and blood? In my experience it is not
so.
(ii) While waiting in a saloon bench and after the barber chair is empty which one
is more preferred – to go ONLY after the barber invites OR going and sitting?
My father says NOT to wait for the barber’s invitation. Do you agree? I am

Hi Kiran,
Thanks so much for your valuable moral support in handling Ajay' s case. I am making it a point to appreciate the looks of Ajay after his \" partial machine cut\" (because he has got a small machined surface at the back)and affectionately pat the \" machine area\" .
Thanks for your reply. Does handheld machines cause wounds on the head? kindly help me because I don' t know.

hi arun.
first of all congrats for your help to ajay´ s father. now the reason for hesitation is fear of cuts and blood wounds on the head and of course shyness about new appearance. but all youngsters are not like. some good boys listen to their parents and get machine cuts regularly.

Subject:  Ajay´ s Medium Haircut

Hi Kiran, Kumar, Hema and other friends,
Really excited to state that Ajay (my neighbour friend) has got a medium haircut first time with little trimming with handheld machines at the back and light running of machine on sides and above the ears. Ajay willingly opt for such a haircut after Prachi affectionately patted my machined surface in the presence of Ajay after my haircut on 1st July. Ajay was also really excited but as usual was afraid of a short machine cut. Myself and Prachi suggested him for a medium cut with about half an inch machined surface at the back. He immediately agreed but wanted me to accompany him to the saloon. Since all this happened immediately after my return home after machine cut, I again accompanied Ajay to the saloon without taking bath also. Seeing the comfort of Ajay, I requested the young barber Mahesh who is of my age and just two years senior to Ajay and who was also my classmate, to lightly touch the sides and above ears with machines. Ajay was really excited because coincidently Mahesh was also sporting a \" machine summer cut\" and was looking really smart. Ajay really liked the feel of his machined surface at the back and was telling it was a \" heavenly experience\" while machine lightly ran over his head at the back and over the ears. Ajay' s father was really happy, though he wanted it to be as short as mine. Kiran, Kumar and Hema please help me to know why teenaged boys hesitate for machine cuts though inside they like it so much?

Hi Kiran,
I was going through some of your insights while describing the machine cut. I have done one typing mistake regarding my age, I am actually completing 19 years by 2011 Decenber and completed 18 years in 2010 which I typed wrongly as 19 years since I was listening to some music and did not notice. Regarding your suggestion on inspiring Ajay, I discussed with his father, but he wants Ajay to be visiting the saloon regularly on his own like me and is not in favour of this method. I seeking the help of his girl classmate Prachi who appreciates my machine cut very much and whole-heartedly. She told she would certainly help. Do you think this approach may work?

Hi Kiran,
I am fine. As I am a boy who will be completing 19 years this December. I have been experiencing a wonderful machine cuts since past three years. I belong to Bangalore. Kiran, still you have not helped in one problem which is bothering me. I have put the same in the next paragraph.
One problem which I am facing is my neighbour friend Ajay who is 14 years old tend to love long hairs which his father don' t like. He likes Ajay to have a smart machine cut like mine. He requests me to inspire Ajay for the same. Though I am almost 19, I look much younger because of my smooth face and fair compexion. Ajay also is fair in complexion but Kiran, my attempt to talk about machine cut is not working because Ajay is afraid and go for only shallow trims that too once in three months. Seeing your knowldege I am really inspired and would like to enjoy more and more about my machine cuts. But I feel sorry for myself because I am not helping Ajay. He likes my machine cut and frequently rubs it affectionately. Have you inspired anybody who is not a regular to visit saloon regulary? Would you help me so that I can help Ajay?

Hi
Arun, since ajay is unwilling to listen to his father also, you do like this. 1st you take his father’s permission to make arun’s hair very short even though he (arun) is opposing. After getting permission you inform your barber to help ajay’s father with reg. to his son’s haircut. Since father is also involved in this definitely barber listens to father or you only because you people are paying the money after all. Then let ajay himself alone go to barber shop as per his wish. After he sits in the chair and some hair is cut you enter the saloon and inform ajay that his father ordered a short haircut for him. Definitely he opposes you and resists. Since you are stronger than the boy and got permission from his father you overpower him and hold his head firmly in your hands. You stand infront of ajay so that he can see the mirror Since barber also in his father’s favour definitely he too will lend his support by standing behind ajay and and bends his head towards your side with one hand and puffs cutting powder all around his back, sides, neck and ears posrtion. Then he takes machine and starts operates from back sides after two or three rounds ajay keeps quite because now he has no other go than to co operate with you than to quarrel at the middle of cutting. After cutting is over you move from mirror and he will be happily surprised to see his new avatar in mirror and thanks you for his new face. Ok. bye kiran/ shb under score dyh at ycin
