hello guys,
i am sukanya, mother of two, shreya 15 and rahul 6.recently i visited an astrologer, she advised me to perform the \" kadu kuthu and tonsure\" on my children.i replied that it was a already done on them,she told that it is better to do again(for their well being) and specifically at a ' durga' temple.when i told her that my daughter was 15 yrs old, she told no need of tonsure for shreya(as if shreya would agree to chop off her beautiful brown hair).so for rahul both tonsure and ear piercing (at some durga temple)while shreya opted for ear piercing at a saloon.so i hav got some doubts..

1)is it okay to ear pierce a boy twice?

2)can rahul eat non veg,what about shreya(though shreya wouldnt listen)?

first of all,it is very good that you are going to perform this ceremony on your son,that too twice and in a durga temple.nowadays,boys are ear pierced and head shaved only during the upanayanam.as for shreya, only ear piercing is required(as as she is 15), and thus a local parlour is enough.as for your doubts.it is absolutely fine ear pierce or tonsure twice,actually intead of haircuts you can tonsure your son.eating non veg is strictly a no-no for rahul,while shreya can eat anything except beef.any clothes are fine.yea diamond earrings are fine.other jewellery not required. shruthi replied. dear sukanya
glad to see that you are performing this ceremony on your children.since your daughter is already 15, no need of tonsure,while its better to pierce in parlour as its more hygenic.as to your doubts
1)no problem,more than once is beneficial,though a bit painful.

2)it is a must that rahul should not non veg foods for atleast 2-3 yrs,while shreya being a teenage girl can eat non veg.

bhuvana replied. As your daughter has already been pierced ears, the new piercing will make the hole big. Dont do it in parlour. Take her to achari and make her feel the pain for good healthy nerves. Better pierce her earlobes and put small thodu. Pierce her nose too right side and put mookuthi for her.

Regarding her haircut,she can cut her hair upto shoulder like bob cut in parlour. sukanya raman replied. guys more doubts..
3)what clothes should rahul wear during the ceremony?

4)i am planning to put diamond jhumka (the hanging type) earrings on rahul is it ok?

5)what other jewellery can he/should he wear?

Kumutha replied. Shreya is 15 years old daughter. you can clarify with your astrologer, instead of ear piercing you can go for nose piercing as a good sign for her well being. nose piercing is good for health. for your son, go ahead on tonsure.
