hi...i m 18 yrs old and desperately in need of ur help..
i have a some upperlip hair and some hair on the sides of my cheeks and under my chin...i dont want to thread my upperlip hair because i know many people who have done it, and the area has turned green. so i m thinking of bleaching parts of my face...is it ok to bleach? will it cause any type of diseases? i dont want to wax too, because the face gets wrinkly and looks old after repeated waxing...other than the disadvantage of bleaching that is, it can b visible in the sun, are there any more? so is it safe to bleach upperlip hair? also, is their any WORKING home made remedy for it? if not, wat bleach brand is good ?? please help me on this regard..its urgent! i have been absolutely upset abt this!

I have been bleaching my face for a few months. And I haven't seen any sort of damage so far. What I got from Vidula's answers was that temp hair removal methods such as threading, waxing, or bleaching do have sone sort of side effect on the long run. For example, if you thread your upperlips, the hair will grow out in stubbles after a few years (but that's only AFTER A FEW YEARS).

If you're worried about your skin getting darker, you can make a habit of regularly applying lemon + honey or lemon + cucumber to your skin. That should be of some help 'cause lemon is a natural bleach.

Bleaching is working pretty fine for me...for now. I really want to get laser after a few years.

If you want to try Jolen... or any other type of bleach...make sure you follow the directions carefully. Don't forget to do a test patch on some other body part before you put it on your face. You never know how you might react to it.

I'm not claiming to know a whole lot about these things, but i can definitely share my experience and stuff. I'd be more than happy to help you. Write to me.

Teen18,
I'm 18 too and I have to same problem. For years I wanted to do something...but I was always scared. I thread my eyebrows and bleach the rest of my face.

If you have excess hair on your upperlips, you should give threading a try. Bleaching is allright for fine hair but if you have a lot of thick hair, your face will look like a blonde fur. If your upperlips turn green, you can try rubbing lemon on it.

You can try using Jolen bleach. It's the best one i've ran across so far. And bleaching is harmless...After a few years, you can try laser (that's what i plan to do).

Good luck. If you have any more questions, write to me.
