Due Date Club September 2007:Fetal Growth

Iam new to this group. But regularly read all your messages. 19 Weeks completed for me. I had my U/S day before yesterday. Radiologist said growth of the baby is one week behind. Babies weight is less. I think it was around 270 to 290. Is this normal? What should be the babies weight during 19th week?

Hi Rev,
I think 1wk behind shouldn' t be an issue. Did u check with ur doc?
One thing please check in ur report whether any term say IUGR.If its there, just put urself in a healthy diet,mostly protein rich diet.
Just stay happy.

I have doctor appointment on May 15th. That time only I can clear everything. My regular doctor has gone to Foreign for 2 months. I didn´ t see any IUGR in my report.

Hi Rev,

Welcome to this board!! and CONGRATULATIONS....
At this stage your baby probably measures nine inches or 22.5cm and weighs around ten ounces. That is approx 210g.
About your concern of less growth of your baby, do not worry at all. One week behind is not much. From now, try to concentrate on your intake of healthy food and I am sure after one month you will give us a good news that your baby is doing fine and his growth is normal or little ahead.

Thanks for u r Reply!!!
I am already overweight.
I did not have any nausea from the beginning and I eat everthing from my first month itself.
After my U/S scan report I have started taking much more than before.
I read in an article that if we have nausea all the systems are working very fine. So I had a doubt during from my 1st trisemester that since I do not have any nausea whether everthing is going fine...Hoping for the best.

Hello Rev,
A very warm Welcum to our Group:-)..Well I donno exactly what shd be the baby' s weight be at 19 weeks,coz I didnt have my ultrasound done since 13th week.Very soon I' ll be going 2 my ultrasound ie on may 5(then I' ll be 18weeks)I' ll surely let u know my baby' s weight then.But till then I guess My other friends who have done their ultrasounds will write to u, telling abt the weight..

I feel baby will surely gain weight soon.Dont worry evrything is normal..

So tell us, where r u 4m?n is this ur 1st baby?.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply Meghnah. This is my first baby. My LMP is Dec 11th.
During my second month I had 3 days bleeding. I thought its gone. After scan doctor said babies heartbeat is there and I took 15 days rest. During that time my friend said if we have bleeding in between there might be problem in growth. What she said is always in my mind and now the U/S report too says growth is less by a week for now. That´ z why I am worried.
