Hi Leo,

I am now just trying to guess my baby's gender through a couple of mid wives tales as we couldn't predict it when I had my level II ultrasound. So I am simply testing the guessing games:) What is the usual range of heart-beat of your baby when you go for your regular doctor appointments? What was it when you had your level II ultrasound.
I heard if the usual heart beat range is above 140, its a girl and if it is below 140 its a boy. Is this true in your case? Lemme know..!!

Everything else is fine and hope the same from you :)

Hi,

Even I heard this that if the usual heart beat range is above 140, its a girl and if it is below 140 its a boy. But it is wrong in my case.

I heard the baby's HB first time at 8 wks at it was 162. At my other doc visits HB (using doppler) was 152 and at my Level II u/s it was 150. It was always in the range of 150 and above so I think it is hard to predict. I am maintaing a pregnancy journal so have the record of HB correctly.

Is ur doc planning another u/s at 32-34 wks? This is generally done to see the amount of amniotic fluid, baby position/growth etc, if yes then u cud see the gender. My doc has advised one more u/s at 32-34wks as I have low lying placenta.

Good luck with ur guessing and ask ur OB if u r scheduled for one more u/s.

Take Care and love o ur little one,
Leo

Hello Leo, Siha and lasya,

Thank you all for your replies.

Leo: My doctor is not planning for another ultrasound anymore. She said, she usually does a second ultrasound for anyone only if there is any complication or if something goes wrong. Otherwise, she'll just do only one ultrasound itseems.

Siha and Lasya: I tried Chinese calendar for fun and it said boy. But, I don't believe it as I have seen many posts from other due date clubs where the girls mentioned that it went wrong in their case.I think, just like the heart-beat myth.. chinese calendar is also for fun:). I think all these mid wive tales are formed for time pass. They help to pass our 9 months time...and finally we'll have our babies in our hands!!!!!!!!

Wish a happy pregnancy to all of you!

Takecare,
blessed_mom
