Travelling with a one and a half month old baby is very difficult and that to in a train for 24 hours is a whole new level of difficulty. Why don't you consider going to the place you are going by flight?

dont know if u bf or use bottle.

in case u r using bottle, u hv rcd great tips from friends already. Adding to it...
fyi - weather in delhi is little cold and foggy.
If u r using bottle, then make 1/2 bottles ready with hot/warm water just before u get down as u know the distances are long, there are traffic issues. Baby might get hungry on ur way home.

btw where wd u be going? i m in noida these days .

cheers
roopa

hey there is one clothing that had helped me in train, i dont know wht it is called ... u use it in winters ... its comonly woollen made. imagine a small shawl whose ends are stitched. you tie it on neck and then it hangs till the waist. it is completely open from lower end. thus u can easily slide in the baby while feeding (sitting position) and dont need to worry abt covering ur breast.

i dint buy this specially, i had it so used it. in case u also hv it, use it.

secondly, carry ur own utensil/pan to heat water from kitchen.

you are travelling for 24 hours only. take insulated jug with you for formula water.it is enough for you and your whole family.no need to stock and carry extra bottles of water.
not all compartments have kitchen at the end.
your baby is very small. hold his neck with good support, cover him with good blankets.don't forget to get couple bedsheets and a pillow, so that if you want to lie down between the seats.it is very comfortable while breastfeeding. if you are going by second ac, train staff gives extra bedsheets.
i was not comfortable in sitting and feeding because i had csection.people are also very helpful when they see mother with newborn baby.
i used to lie down to feed my baby. i found that train seats are not comfortable enough to sleep with baby.i was afraid i will fall down because the seat was too narrow when you sleep with baby.
hope this helps you somewat. happy journey.

I hope you are having company for this travel.pesonally i feel that train travel is much more comfartable than flight.your baby must be either on breast feeding or bottle feeding,so dont worry about him.if you are breast feeding thereis no problem at all.if you are bottle feeding hten you can take few bottles of mineral water and your husband or whoevertravelling with you can take it to the trains kitchen and warm it and store in the flask for few hours.because we did the same,we were travelling from chennai to orrisa.it was 2 days and 1 night travel.the people in the kitchen are also very caring and helpful.so dont worry about the baby she is going to do fine.
it is about you,you have to take good care.you delivered only few weeks ago.so wear comfortale clothes.if you are feeling tired try to lie down.make frequent trips to the bathroom.be hydrated.have a happy journey.take care.
