Have you ever performed the Lakshmi pooja during Diwali? Do you know the significance of each step? What preparations do you make before the pooja?

I enjoyed reading this article. All the preparations and the steps are very nicely written and are easy to follow. Please add articles on the meanings of the prayers that are recited as well. That will be very helpful for people who do not know them.

I have never truly appreciated the Lakshmi pooja during Diwali. Now that I know what it actually means, I will strive to understand the prayers during this year' s celebration. I wish we could understand what the pandit is saying. Because the language is alien to us, we tend to tune out the words.

Diwali is not just about the fireworks. It is a time of prayer and blessings as well. Yet nowadays, people are more focussed on blowing up money on crackers. We need to go back and keep the spirit of Diwali alive.

The Lakshmi pooja is an integral part of the Diwali celebrations. Thank you for bringing out this fact. We tend to focus more on the other aspects of Diwali. Traditionally, the pooja was a monumental occasion. Now people only wait for the pooja so that they can feast on the sweets afterwards.
