Crying & Colic:Home care provider complained

Hi,
I have been sending baby girl to this lady since she was 5 months old. The care provider never had a problem with her. She was always a happy baby, she played with other children, never fussed for more that a couple of minutes. But now the provider complained that since the past 2 months my baby, who is 12 months old, cries every time she leaves her room or leaves her alone. She refuses to take care of her now. We have to find another Home care. Isn't this a normal behaviour for a 12 month old? Or do I need to consult a doc.
Any help/suggestion is greatly appreciated. My husband and I were deeply shocked by this sudden complaint.

Hi Deam,

You must have heard by now there is nothing wrong with your girl. As she grows she will be more and more aware of her situation. She is growing up very normal. The only thing is the care-provider should have exercised more patience...having dealt with infants in the past she must know of this behavioral trait...she is not interested anymore....take the cue and move on...One word of advice...in future when you look for care-providers ask their experience and test the level of their patience. Because everytime the kid cries you don't want them to desert you.

I have an 18 months old daughter.....she is very friendly and social and loves to go out, but lately she follows me evrywhere in the house and even waits outside the bathroom until I come out!!!! She doesnot want to be left alone. The best thing to combat their fear of being left alone is to keep them busy. The care-provider should keep her busy with toys or games etc. One has to be very creative to combat these situations.

HiMom,

I have a 13 month old baby.Itis veryvery normal for yourkid to cry whenever her baby sitter leaves her.As your baby is having the separatio anxiety (which peaks at this age).when she was youngershe didn't realise what it means to leave her and go, but she is able to understand so manythings now about everything('cause my daughter doesn't even tolerate me slipping into the next room, she'll come behind me all the time). So don'tworry, your baby is normal.

Hi!
I dont think that it should let it affect u, as in u can beleive her ...It often happens that if the provider isnt that interested, the excuses come up in this fashion, I dont think there is any kind of problem with ur baby, this is very natural, so dont worry! There are many care takers, so just move on!!
