A year back during summer just for a change and to beat the heat I asked the barber to cut my hair really short. He gave me a haircut such that sides and back there were no hair, very neatly reduced by machine. I felt odd after the haircut but after 2 / 3 days I started liking so much that once the hair grew to certain length I started getting that cut. Now that there is bride search for me, there is compulsion from well wishers that I should go back to normal haircut otherwise no gal would accept me. one suggestion is to grow my hair , find a bride and then tell her about it. My dilemma is to whether continue the way I am or should I accept what my well wishers say and go by their thoughts.. or should I grow my hair, once I find a bride, tell her about it and get it cut again...

Yes I would definitely like to share my experience.The first machine cut that I had was when I was in 6th Standard i.e., about five and half years back. It was first Sunday of June. My school has just started and I was really excited because I freshly learnt cycling. I was really impressed by Ravi’s machinecut and was determined. Myself accompanied by Ravi went to the saloon at 6.30 am which is about 2 kms from my house on our bicycles. Partked them outside. The barber put a white cloth on me and tightened the same. He sprayed liberally the water on my head. It was great feeling. On my request, he started his manual clippers first on my left side, then the back and then on the right side. I enjoyed the kit-kit sound, vibration and heavenly touch of cold metal. Since there was no one in the saloon, the barber scissored me much more perfectly. After 40 minutes the barber was happy with his work. Then he applied some dettol like smelling liquid and razored me around my ears and the neck line. That razoring, feeling I cherish even today. Two highschool boys from my school entered and one of them giggled. But seeing my confidence he stopped. The other boy gave me an appreciative look. The barber loudly commented that I look smart with a machine crop cut. I handed over the barber 15 rupees. While we were leaving two more boys who came to the saloon gave me a look of appreciation. On the way back we met my classmate Kavita who stopped my bicycle and was enthusiastic to enquire about my cut and my feelings. Once in the house, Ravi was very happy and whole-heartedly appreciated me and gave me a loving hug. My parents and my uncle were very happy with the cut. in the school my maths and history teachers patted my back and felt my machined area. There were many boys and girls who gave me a surprising look. Some of them who giggled initially became much appreciative of my machinecut few days later.

Just like your feelings, Ravi likes,enjoys and feel proud of his regular haircuts. Three of the Ravi' s close friends, Anand, Ajay and Rajeev regularly (except during summer and exam times) accompany Ravi and myself to the saloon for their machinecuts. In saloon some boys giggle at me, but seeing my confident look they withdrew. Deepak, ultimately how much you love your cuts and looks is what matters in getting a confidence. I wear only after.My barber tapers gradually with sufficeint hair at the top to comb my and Ravi' s crop. However, during exam time and summer season Ravi have \" summer machine cuts\" . I enjoy the experience. Perhaps your barber would have carried away. Please ask him to taper the machine cut gradually. My submission is when you are liking a cut, why to discontinue?

Deepak, what my barber meant by \" adjustments\" is his ability to skillfully press and lift the manual clippers for best cuts. For me and Ravi he gives very nice gradually tappering machine cut.He does not use any other attchments to manual clippers. It is his skill that does the trick. You too can have such a cut. Please persist with the machine cut if you are really liking your own appearance after the cut. Your friends, I am sure, will be appreciating silently. They are just testing your determination which is common.

I am girl studying in my intermediate. Myself and my brother Ravi both spot machine cuts with sufficient hair at the top to comb the crop. Everybody loves the style. Machine cut is suitable for a boy with relatively smooth skin and he should be clean shaved. Are you having a smooth skin with less rough beard? If so continue your machine cut. Most of the girls like you. All the best.

There are many females (like myself) who like their men with a close machine cut. In fact I like my husband with a machine cut which is quite high up and very short on top.
I advise that you see the girls with the haircut you like. Of course, you must radiate confidence about yourself. If some girls put too much weight for the hairstyle of the groom they are anyway not worth it. If you do not exude confidence about yourself then you are also not worth much (sorry to be too blunt). Keeping grown out sides before marriage and telling her later will unnecessarily introduce elements of doubt and mistrust (' what other things you are hiding from me?' )which is avoidable.
Enjoy the machine cut and with patience you will find a bride who likes it.

He nicely reduced my sides and back to no hair and the usual giggles from people when I stand for bus at the bus stop, etc. Since you had hair till shoulders, didn´ t you have fear also when you first sat on the chair and asked to use manual clippers ? can you share your first experience of such cut

Thanks Richa , I like the cut but sometimes no tapering, just clean back and sides - it will appear like little hair on top and bald on sides and back - the barber will bend my head and run the clipper high in the back , bend the ears and do it on sides as well (hope you don´ t get such a close one as bending the ears will pain becuase of earrings )does your brother also gets such a cut sometimes? I am sure you won´ t be getting such a cut -

oh, I never knew manual clippers too had adjustments - when I ask for such a cut, I have always seen him using the clippers with no attachment and that make sides and back no hairs - perhaps you don´ t get that kind ofcut that I am talking about...

one day I wanted a differnt cut and that´ s how it started... first time I dind´ t enjoy much but later I was looking forward for such cuts - sometimes in summer every 2 weeks I will get it clippered. no real appreciation...

In my case, haven´ t got any positive comment - either they will ask if I slept during haircut (or) something happened to me.. or may be I went to a barbershop under the tree.. I have gone sometimes to a normal barbershop , sometimes to a posh parlour common for all - there it will be strange as a girl will be trimming her hair and the stylist will be running the clippers and nearly making me bald for me at the sides..
why do you like manual clippers ?
