Due Date Club December 2006:It's a BOY
2006-08-10
Name: Leo

Dear All,

Had my u/s yesterday and the wonderful journey of seeing the baby began. The technician explained us all the details patiently and she asked us twice whether we wanted to know the gender when we said yes she said it’s a boy. The baby was moving so much she said the baby is very active and the HB was 150 and my EDD changed from 19th Dec to 16th Dec.

One funny thing happened after she told us the gender she immediately focused on the face of the baby and it was putting its hands over its face then my husband said as we all saw the gender probably it felt shy. LOL. Then again the baby put its fingers in its mouth. Wow a great feeling really, thanks to technology!!! We got a CD with all the photos and even a DVD. I and my husband watched the DVD again at home and each time we watch it we are so amazed at the so sweet baby within.

After the u/s met the doctor. My BP, weight was fine. She saw the baby’s measurements and said the growth is fine. She also remarked that my placenta is a bit low and said there is nothing to worry though and it will eventually move up. She told me to report if there is any spotting/bleeding. Wanted to ask her should I exercise any caution etc but yesterday she seemed to be in a hurry, generally she is very patient and answers my queries very well, will probably ask Archie. Now I am 21 wks, the doc told me that there may be another u/s at 32-34 wks just to see whether the placenta has gone up.

Overall a very fulfilling day, got to see my little one!!!

Bye,
Leo

Hello Leo,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Glad to know that you and baby are doing good :) Regarding the low lying placenta, don't lift heavy items, don't force yourself to do any work when you are feeling weak...just take bed rest. hope this may help. Everything will be alright, be cool and take care!

Regards,
blessed_mom

Hi Leo,

Congrats dear.. I can understand your excitement on c'ing the baby in the u/s. Its a real treat amidst all the difficulties that we face during this time. As u said, thanks to the technology.

About the low lying placenta, i too had gone throught the same condition. But that was in the 16th week. And things were ok in less than 5 weeks. My doctor told me to not to lift any weight & to avoid any strenuous work. Take rest as much as possible.

Ok then take care
Naina

Congrates !!!! for your little boy the first boy in the group yet but you prove that we cann't prove baby's sex by HB in my case HB was 138 and having a girl.Yeah its amazing to see our baby.
For placenta you are having much time and it will move up in the later stage.
Thanks for your wishes for GTT as i am very nervous about it.

hey Leo,

congrats ..girl..the first boy in our group ?? :) ..... yep, it is a very amazing thing to see the baby in the u/s ..dont worry too much abt the lower palcenta ....i am sure it will become ok as the pregnancy progresses ...

abt exercise, well i would think maybe as long ur body feels ok with it and there is no bleeding/spotting , u can do mild exercises like walking, swimming, etc ... but i agree, Archie will be a better person to answer that Q ...

anywya take care and i am so hapyt for you :)
