hi
i am from a traditional family and i am studying in the 8th std,and i have a elder sister sanjana who is 5 yrs older to me.when we were small my mother decided not to perform the the ear piercing ceremony on us as she thought it would cause us a lot of pain.now my sister wants to get her ears pierced and she told my mother that even i could have my ears pierced,further being a boy my head also was to be tonsured.my mother felt that it would be hygenic to perform this ceremony in a beauty saloon,and they are going to perform it on me in 2 days ,so pl give me some advice

Aditi, I dont know how old you are ? But u need to understand that I´ m studying in 9th Std and its o embarrassing to get my head shaved from my cousin sister and more over she pierced my ears. I felt very bad dude.

I felt so uneasy when she took the razor and started to shave my head. She could have just pierced my ears. but she heated the needle and did that to me. You know how painful it is and I study in a co-education where girls also study. Just imagine me going to school tonsuring and piercing my ears dude ?

mottai and kadhu kuthu is a very imp ceremony so dont be worried.there are a lot of benefits ear piercing improves eye sight and being a girl, I feel a tonsured boy looks very adorable and cute.ear piercing will pain for about a week but after that u will like wearing earrings.also being a boy u can regularly get tonsured and wear ur earrings in both ears.also please refrain from eating non veg after this ceremony.all the best and post ur experiences

Hi my name is ravi, im studyin in 9 std. when i was a kid, my parents had tonsured me but they did not pierce my ears. similar to Akshay´ s problem. My cousin sister read an article about the ceremony in a book and told my parents that it is good to perform this actvity.

They have decided to do this at home. Since my mom is working and they dont have time. they want to this on this saturday. My cousin doing her 2nd year Bsc. She has planned to tonsure me and pierce my ear by herself. I´ m getting scared and Im very shy, as im studying and its a co education. Im feeling very embarrased. I cannot see myself shaving my head from cousin sister. Please help !!!!

thank you aditi and shruthi for replying.today my mother and sister are taking me to a jewellery shop to get me earrings.tomorrow the ceremony is going to be performed in a beauty parlour,also its a ladies parlour.since my school is undergoing a renovation it starts only next year(thank goodness)

you have to be calm as this ceremony is performed to every boy.it is just that ear piercing ceremony is being done for you now.there is some physical discomfort but it is very beneficial.the tonsur ceremony causes some burning sensation while ear piercing causes some pain

pl dont worry about the tonsure and ear piercing ceremony.it is a an essential ceremony and since it was not performed when you were small, you have to undergo it now.tonsure provides physical and mental cleanliness and boys of your age look cute when they are tonsured.ear piercing does pain but in a week or so i am sure you will enjoy wearing your earrings.so,best of luck and share your experiences
