Due Date Club September 2004:Height of uterus

Name: sweetie Hi Gals,
Is your doctor checking for height of uterus during every visit? My doctor is not :-( and yesterday during my appointment, I asked her about it and so she measured and said it only came about 20 cms while I am in my 27th week. I read in the book that it should be same as no of weeks, so it should be around 26 cms. Doctor said do not wory right now. It might be because baby is in horizontal position and since you are feeling movements, everything should be fine. However in next appointmnet ( which is not due until 4 weeks now ) she is gonna take the measure again and if its not right, she will send me for ultrasound. I am very worried about baby's development as I have put on only 12 pounds so far and can not drink milk at all.
Let me know if any of you guys know anything about it and if your doctor checking for height of uterus during every visit?

Hi Sweetie,

Well you sound quite worried .. i would say be cool and if you have not put on much wt its not a big issue...some ppl do not put on much.

I am in my 29th week but uptil now the doc has not checked the uterus ht even once but ya she has performed regular U.Sounds

I was totally unaware of this thing and neither has the doc told me anything.

But u don't worry and all must be fine.
