I was told that some sort of discomfort is normal in the early stages... as long it isnt accompanied by an spotting or bleeding. I didnt experience the sort of pain you describe - mine was more like bad pre-menstrual cramps..

I' m now about 7 weeks pregnant and the discomfort has disappeared.

First of all Congrats.
I m also in 6th week of my Pregnancy.
Folid acid i good for your baby so continue it.
About the pain sometimes even i m having and i check with my doctor and she told it normal.Take small and frequent meals and drink lots of water.
But if the pain is more or unbearable please check with ur doc.
