Due Date Club February 2006:Attn Archie - My mid trimester anomaly scan

Hi all,
I had my mid trimester anomaly scan this weekend. My doc says everything is fine but for a small resistance in blood flow. She says this might give rise to BP in my 7th or 8th month and has prescribed 2 tablets to be taken through out pregnancy. Actually the report mentions some notch in my left side since my placenta is fundal and on the right side. But at the same time the report says am low-risk for BP. Can you pls let me know what this means??
Also my RBS tets of my blood says my sugar is 120 (My RBS 3 months back was 85). The doc says this is significant since I had the test 2 hrs after my food. So she has asked me to cut down on rice, sweets etc and on some fruits like sapota, grapes and bananas. Also advised me to stick to fruits rather than fruit juice. Can anybody shed more light on this? How big is this a problem? Is 120 really a significant sugar level?
Otherwise I could see my baby moving its hands and legs. Was really very nice to see that!! :-)) I also went for a 4-D scan and have the images on a CD!! Couldn't find out the sex of the baby though!! :-(( The doctor was very strict regarding that!!
Girls, pls advise me regarding my BP and Sugar queries!!

priya,
due to notch in left side you are at low risk for bp. this is because of resistance of blood supply and aspirin should help thinning and improving the blood supply.

yes you should cut down carbs and white flour, you have slight risk of GD and if controlled from now may be you will not get into GD otherwise strickt diet and if required insulin will be offered to you after GTT test.

these two comments have nothing to do with abnormal growth, which means baby is fine but you need to take care of above two aspects.

Your OB is good one and recommended excellent advise.

Hi please check my post on anomaly scan, i have increased resistance in blood flow too, but i already have high bp and taking medicine for it. I now have to continue my medication in addition i take baby aspirin to help the bp. However at my scan they said sometimes there is resistance at this stage (21wks) which may disappear in a month or so thats why now i will be doing monthly doppler and growth scan to check whether the resistance to blood flow is affecting the baby's growth. My consultant also said that one in three women suffer notching and baby develops and grows fine, but just incase im sure they will check ur bp more closely as it may rise near the end of the pregnancy.

im not sure abt ur blood sugar as i have not had my check done as yet.

all i know is that if ur baby is growing and developing well thats good news and just look after ur diet.

im no expert but hope this helps.
