hi archie n others.
as i updated on oct 6 i had my first scan at weekd 20 and placenta was low. now i did my scan in 22 week as i opened the file in main hospital in abu dhabi. even now there is no improvment. baby is normal but placenta is still low. doctor has termed it as 'high risk' pregnancy and 'anaemic studies in scan'. next scan is at week 32. next doctors appointment is on november 16. have done blood test for iron n result will be known after 2 weeks. now taking prenatal iron/vigamin suppliments. now doc suggested taking folic acid n if needed after the blood test result iron tablets will be recommended. i am still working as its a receptionist secretary job. kept a maid at home. not walking much n not bending/lifting heavy things etc. from the beginning. i hope all will be ok. just praying to god. fairy

Hi fairy...this is Sharan...even m having low-lying placenta...m 26 weeks pregnant....my placenta was 21 mm at 13 weeks and it raised to 23 mm after 1 and a half month...so dun worry it takes time to raise...i still have to go for my next scan after 2 weeks...so dun kno whats the exact postion now...my doc says that it should raise minimum to 30 mm, otherwise i ll have to go for c-section...but it really have dun effect on baby or yours health....so just relax...it will raise up with time...however i suggest u to keep pillow under your legs while sleeping....even m working...n one thing more if u r in sitting job put some small bench under ur feet (to raise them a little and dun sit for too long just go for a small walk say to take a glass of water/coffee/tea or loo afeter every hour...Sharan

Dont worry so much, i think it will take longer than 2 weeks for the placenta to rise, i think Archie told u to recheck in 10 weeks or so. So be patient and relaxed, i dont think u should be doing too much house work and bending etc anyways, leave it to ur husband or other family. Iron or folic supplements are not bad for ur baby so if u do need it dont be concerned but also try to eat more iron rich foods to bring iron levels higher naturally if u find out u are anaemic. Ur baby is not at risk the only thing which may happen is a c-section to deliver if ur placenta has not risen. Be calm and happy for ur little baby.

take care and smile!

B
