Neha replied. It is the common issue faced by all parents and it would be continue only for some days and rest it will be okay and i wish you need to hold patience then only your problem will be solved also.
Saisha replied. Babies crying at night is a very common problem. However the drops that you are giving the baby is prescribed by a doctor, then i dont think theres any risk in it.
sruthi replied. Hey bony
dont worry,it is quite common for kids to cry at mid nights rather than in morning time,so try to pacify them using pacifiers, singing lullabies or try to give woodwards gripe water which calms the baby in case of any disturbance in the stomach.try and let us know any difference,
sruthi replied. hey bony
this is a very natural occurence.Be prepared and as the child grows you will be soothed from pain of midnight tortures.
fatima replied. Hello Bony,
You need to constipate the child between the day and night and then only your problem will be resolved and you will have some peace also.I hope you would do the same and you can share what had happened also.

harry replied. the problem you are facing is quite common . many babies face it. The symptoms are typical of colic. The exact cause of colic is till today not known. Typically the baby is happy during the day, but gets very irritable during night time with frequent demand of feeds which may or may not be associated with vomittings. Colimex is safe to be administered. Some steps like mother eating less spicy foods, reducing dairy product intake and proper burping may help. baby takes frequent feeds for comfort not because of hunger. Please do not use honey or excess gripe water. Pacifiers like rubber nipples are of no proven benefit and may cause infection. Relax, its a tough time for you, but your baby is perfectly fine and will gradually grow out of it. Try to sleep whenever baby sleeps, otherwise you will be tired. Take turns holding the baby with your spouse and ur parents if they are around
discountkart replied. Consult a doctor and dont just try medicines which are not under doctor advice.
Sujata replied. Hi. I m also facing a new challenge each day. My 2 month old daughter is an angel during the day. She naps well plays and all. Just before her night feed around 830 I wipe her and make her feel we r getting ready for the night and all . Now during the day she takes 4 ounces at each feed. At night if I give her 4ounces she vomits. And while drinking she is so sleepy. The moment the feed is over she is wide awake. Now last night I even let that be and let her play if she wanted to. Around 1030 thought she would be sleepy. Tried giving her formula and Ll nothing worked. Finally she cried felt drowsy and slept at 230. I m finding this very stressful as I have an older one also. Hr school and all that demands my attention during the day. But this kind of night stress is affecting my health also.can anyone help.
meena replied. sir its because he is very small and they feel hungry at night.. that' s the reason they get up in the night for milk... so dont take stress..enjoy your father hood
bony replied. thnx hetal for ur reply. i will surely consult her doc. i am in bangalore
Hetal replied. hi,
colimex is a digestive aid & often prescribed for excessive gas or stomach distress.
since your baby sleeps well with this,it means that your baby is suffering from gas. and this medicine is working, so it cures his gas.
whole day often it happens that his activity levels are high, but due to some food that you are taking, its making him feel excessive gassy.
i would rather stop these drops and prefer to give Himalaya bonnison gripe water and make some little change in my diet like reducing intake of too many dairy products at one time or a serving, excess spicy or oily foods, excess foods like potato, or hard lentils like rajma, channa, toor dal or channa dal..
and always use a garlic pod sauted to just a little beige colour,in ghee with each serving of rice.
other than that, if you bf, drink prenty of fluids, cool water, not cold water..add in some roasted jeera pwder or dill seeds pwder,,it will tasty too,,and with all this your baby might not need gripe water..
also, remember, dont give gripe water everyday, right now you can give until you fit in your new diet, after couple days, you can stop that and then give it once in alternate day or once in 3days,,thereby reducing the gripe water dose as well.
as such its not harmful because its ayurvedic but why do that. unnecessary dosage of ne type of medication in ne form or ayurvedic or not is not required.
also, note that, it also means that you have to increase your baby activity level..increase his tummy time between feeds, esp the later part of the day,,cycle his legs, massage his belly with \";iloveyou\"; stroke..
now about the medicine,i am surprised as to why your dr felt the need to give it to infant below 6 months.its clearly written on the medicine details that it should not be given for -
1.obstructive disease of gastro-intestinal tract,2.urinary tract disorders,3.severe ulceration of colon,4.INFANTS BELOW 6MONTHS..
also note the side effects of this medicine - dry mouth, thirst, blurred vision, fatigue, constipation, loss of apetite, nausea and headache.
please note that the side effects are seen in small percentage of persons using the medinces, the benefits of using the drug usually outweigh the side effects.
if ne side effects or change in your baby intake of milk or formula, activity levels occurs, or ne blurred vision like miscoordination of hands with respect to eyes in catching a toy occurs, talk to your dr.
its clear that your baby is having gas problem and its because of this he cries.please note, this is very normal in all infants upto 6months,,once their digestive system becomes mature, they will be able to eat and sleep well even when activity level was none.
so please dont panic. try to ask your dr why does he feel need to give this medicine to 4 month old when its not recommended by the manufacturer itself that infants below 6months are not recommended even by dr. please note that,,this might throw some lights on your baby problem and your dr might explain why he felt the need.
also, make sure that you check for side effects..other wise there is nothing to worry..
if you are in US, mylicon works in seconds, and is completely safe medicine and can be givin as often as needed,,also note this is over the counter medicine.,however, you will need to have patience of 3 hours for gripe water to be effective at the best.also, if you are in India, ask your dr about some medicine that is not prescribed but is over the counter..in that way the medicine that he will recommend will be very light on your lil ones belly and will be more than enough to cure gas problem.babies this young dont need medicines unless the condition is severe !
for me, i am only worried about the matter where your dr has adviced you 6 drops of this drug, that too when your baby is 4months ! thats all it bothers me.
njoy your time with your lil one !
good luck
ruchi replied. Hi, there is a possibilty that your child is afraid of darkness . During the day , there is enough sunlight . Try lighting a lamp .
Also, make a schedule for your baby before putting her to bed . You can change her clothes , give her some water to drink, and sing some songs etc. for her . Dont try to make her sleep if she isnt sleepy . Rather involve her in some activities . Toys with music help .You can also try switiching on tv and playing some music channel . This will help in distracting the baby from crying .
