Health Concerns:fruits...avoid r not?

Hi all,

I'm on 1st trimester,can any1 tell me wht fruits shld be avoided at this time?
Some agree with avoiding Mango n Pineapple while some don't.I'm really confused as wht to do b'coz i'm eating Mangoes n brought Pineapple too thinking tht any fruit is good in pregnancy.

Can anybody clear my dbt?

Hi Rani...it is better to avoid fruits like pineapples and papayas bec. it has a chemical that may cause abortion.At least that is what my doctor in india had told me. But in the United states, doctors would actually encourage u to have pineapples and papayas bec. it is high in folic acid. I think I would avoid pineapples and papayas all together and eat other fruits like apples, oranges etc. that are also high in folic acid. Generally, it is a good idea to avoid mangoes in the first trimester but occasional indulgence is fine.
