Miscarriage and Child Loss:DC or natural miscarriage at 9 weeks

Name: Hope

I went in for my US last week at 7.5 weeks and they found a heart beat which was slow 70 something. Then I went in yesterday and they found the hb was missing and the baby had died. I would be 9 weeks today.
Anyway the doctor felt I should start bleeding soon and so did not recommend a D & C. Should I opt for a D & C? This wait is killing me. I want to get over this entire deal. It's devastating.
Also the2 times this happened to me it was at 5.5 weeks and 6 weeks. So I got my periods a bit late, and had heavier flow. This time I am scared that the flow will be very heavy and painful. Also not sure what make of these losses. Every time we try we get pregnant, but it ends in a loss. After the 2nd one I was diagnosed with MTHFR and was on extra folic acid, b6, b12, BA, and progesterone this time around. But even that did not help. Will this ever end.

Hope

My heart goes out to you. I just don't know the right words. From what I have read, if you are positive for MTHFR, you can be administered (in addition to extra folate) with a blood thinning medication. Usually it is heparin or its low-molecular weight derivative called lovenox. Can you see a high risk OB or perinatologist for a second opinion.

You can do some internet search and talk to doctors.

I am so touched and teary eyed that you use the name'Hope'. I will definitely pray for you. Hugs!

Infertility is a very hard thing to hit a woman. I can't imagine what it must be like. My sister went through it. She was told that she was infertile by her doctor. Her husband was a doctor too, but besides all the knowledge they could do nothing. Then they tried going for IVF. At first they were resistant, they were double minded. But then my sister went to various fertil... - Lillian [View Message]

RE:Coping With a Miscarriage
Hey! I hope you are doing well. Miscarriages are a terrible thing that can happen to a family. It is like your dream of having a child and the next moment it is all gone. There are various reasons why miscarriages happen. But I do not think that miscarriages should affect the relationship. It is the responsibility of the husband to understand that no one is at fault. Hey Richa, hope you are doing well. I am sorry to hear about it.I know what you have gone through. Toughest period is when one is TTC.The worst part is the miscarriages and 3 of them makes it even more hard to cope with. I agree with your husband and would advice you to take a break also.
