Health Concerns:Back & Chest Pain

Hi
I am writing for my wife who has entered at her 22nd week(Due date 2nd June). Nowdays she feels back pain queit frequently also chest pain mostly at bed time.
Our Doctor made a test for UTI, Haemoglobin count. She has a mild infection and also Haemoglobin is only 10.9.
Is the chest pain and back pain due to this?. is there any remedies for all these discomforts. Now she started to take one glass of Cranberry juice daily. Also she drinks 3 litre water daily. Doctor has prescribed Zantac tablets for chest pain but she has not taken that
regards/sadique

Hi Concerned husband
It's very normal to get concerned for these things, in particular when you identify a mild infection, last thing that one would want to happen while pregnant.
Back pains can get worst as she will progress in her pregnancy. This is largely due to weight gain, in itself it's a great sign of healthy pregnancy. Chest pain can be due to many reasons as your Dr. investigated. Also she can have some chest pain and that's again normal, withoug infection.

About taking Zantac or not she shall have a second opinion. If that's the same then no reason to hold it back. Better to control any infection than let that get serious.

Warm showers before bed and light oil massage can help her feel better.

Hope this helps.
Archie

hi archi

Thank you for your advice. It is very helpful to share our problems with this group.

Now my wife is ok, she is better now. One glass of cold milk every night has reduced chest pain a lot.

Best Regards
Sadique

Back and chest pain are normal during this time,I am also 23 weeks pregnant now.A light oil massage at the back will be helpful and good sitting and lying down postures will help too.
