Due Date Club October 2008:NT Scan

Name: Rupal Hi All,

I have my NT scan on coming monday i.e. last day of 13 week.
I read abt it in internet, and found that they use to search for some fluid area below the neck of fetus.
Anyone has gone through the same? do they search for some fetal abnormalities by this scan?

NT Scan not completed

Hi All,

From last 2 days i m going for scan and doctor has tried hard for 1 hrs everyday.
But my baby is not giving the proper position to measure NT, he is literally dancing full time. alot many movement r their.everything else is normal but measuring NT Value is the purpose odf this scan.
Now i will b going 3rd time, hope it will b done.
Anyone has faced the same problem?

successful scan

Hi ALL,
Finally on 3rd day my sonologist was able to measure NT/NB.
everything came normal, they told me that on the basis of NT value i fall under low risk category.

hi rupal,
nt scan is done to rule out the possibility of downs syndrome in the baby.as per my information,its an ultrasound exmination in which the thickness of the fluid is measured below the lower part of the fetus' neck.i guess the fluid is taken out as a part of another advanced test in case thrs some prob with the nt scan.im in my 11th week right now and am due for the scan on march 31st.
pls keep updated of ur experience.it will be helpful.wish u good luck:)
