Due Date Club February 2008:Walking

Hi girls,

I am not walking everyday after the winter started in NJ. It is recommended that we walk atleast 30 min everyday. Full day at work and winter outside, cooking and a kid at home I just don' t get to walk everyday or I am too tired to walk. But the days I walk/shop etc I feel more energetic. Just wanted to know how you girls manage to exercise/walk especially working women. For me I have to steal time to cook and eat in the weekdays, I am kind of worried how my baby is doing. How are working moms managing esp. with kid?

Eager to hear your responses,
CK

Hi CK...Not an experienced mommy yet here is the solution I have found for walking in the BAD Toronto weather.

I simply walk up and down in my basement. Its boring and not half as much fun as walking outdoors but at least I am getting some exercise. Also I have divided the walk into 2 parts - 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening. Guess the bottom line is to stay active and I think you are doing that brilliantly with taking care of a home,a job and your daughter. I am certain you will do perfectly fine with the delivery.

Hi CK,

Even I used to walk everyday when I was pregnant with my son. This pregnancy, I did that in my first trimester and little bit in second. Now, I hardly do it. Taking care of Aditya (which includes so much walking, bending etc), cooking and ofcourse work. By end of the day, I am not having energy with these only.
But I am not feeling bad as I think we are compensating that with other chores.
Don' t worry CK. I am sure we will do good during labour.
