Hi mommies to be,
I am now in my 20th week... i havent yet started feeling any movements or kicks or fluttering sensations... is this normal? Do I wait for some more time or do i need to rush to the doc immediately ..my next appointment is only in May.
Everyone around me has started asking me whether ive started feeling any movements and why i' m not feeling anything yet , I' m worried now.

hi sue,
there is no need to worry..i agree with what ira and mou have said already. i am 19 n half wks along now and i can feel the movements only when i place my hand on my tummy. u can try that..sit quietly and relax..preferably after eating someting and place ur hand on ur tummy. u will feel some fluttering sensations. i even read somewhere that for many babies, their most active time is during the night (when we sleep). when u get up in the night to go the bathroom, thta time try placing ur hand and see if u feel anything.
dont worry..everything' ll be alright
take care
rakhi

Hi sue,
First of all thanks for ur advice (regarding contstipation).
Hopefully u might have already started feeling the baby movements.May be u recognised it late(u will feel it lower part of ur abdomen ,chances are in right part). And if this is ur first pregnancy u can feel it little late. That' s my experience last time.
There is no need to worry but u just check it with ur doc when u next visit her/him.
Take care.Be hapy.
mou.

hi sue....

hmm first of all.. i am not an expert so i don' t want to falsely reassure you... so if possible do talk to your doctor.

otherwise... i was just talking to my mom ( who is herself a gynac) and i was kind of worried.. because sometimes i am not sure what i feel as fluttering is really movements... well... i complete my 20 weeks day after on 18th of apr. according to her.. some people do feel movements late... but mostly by 20 weeks you should feel some kind of movements... but you should feel something.

maybe you are not able to distinguish... try sitting quitely for a while... and concentrate... you should feel some kind of fluttering, or bubbling.. or a gentle push from the inside... that' s what i feel... sometimes that push can be directed inside.. like i sometimes feel a small pressure on my back... could be the baby kicking somewhere else?

wait until u turn 20 weeks.... if until then u still don' t feel movement... then i think you should check with your doctor..

i am sure it' s al right..... somewhere in some other post i think sandhya had posted that she felt her first baby late.... since he was' nt much of a kicker.. maybe that' s just the case!

and relax.. because my doc once told me.. that you can do your baby more harm when you worry.. because the chemicals produced when u' re worried can harm them. so if you' re worried... best thing is to talk to your doc.. and keep your mind at rest.

and take care of yourself!
love
ira
