Due Date Club February 2008:leg cramps

Hi Moms,

Today I woke up with leg cramps early in the morning around 2am and it was very difficult for me to go back to sleep. I tried to change position from one side to another and ofcourse I had pillow under my legs. But even at 7am I was with lot of pain and couldn' t move my legs.
My h' band gave a little massage and started walking around slowly. But later I did call my doc' s office and spoke to the nurse. She said that its common around this time and cramps are a little more in night and early morning. She just asked me to take TUMS and eat bananas. As I don' t have any backache or swelling in legs, she didn' t ask me to see the doc.
To my surprise, She advised me to walk it off and not to lay down as that might worsen the pain.
So, I am relieved and feeling ok after warm bath. Thought I' ll share it with you guys in case anyone else is going through this or might come across the same problem.

Subject:  Cramps Relief



If you get cramps anytime, lift your toes towards your face i.e. upwards (bending the ankles not knees). It relieves the pain right away. After the pain stops circle your toes, pull your toes up at ankles for few minutes. You will get relief. Any day I do lot of standing/walking I get leg cramps in the night. So keep this simple relief in mind that works for me. Hope it works for you too...
