starting the thread here,,again,,continue here.
now about your prob.
your baby has shown rashes to apples, peaches and carrot, at 5months, which means she is not ready for solids. it doesnt matter that you are not able to supply bm to her, wat matters here whether or not she is ready for it !
instead of giving juice, did you try giving overboiled carrots puree, and start with banana first. peach is after banana and apple. dont introduce 2 things at a time. give your baby time to accept them,,try new vegie or fruit, after seeing his reactions, for a week or so.then start with new thing.
if you are so eager in starting solids, try offering other vegies that are in line after carrots, preferbly, green peas, green beans, spinach, sweet pototoes..but remember, your baby might show senstivity towards beans and peas, potatoes as they both tend to give gas !
did you give her gripe wateR? try giving it once, see how he reacts.sometimes a dosage of gripewater relieve baby from gastric prblems..and you might want to continue it..go slower with gripe water, than recommended,,first give once in 2 days, then once a day,,see,if it works dont increase the dosage..try to stop it,,to make sure that your baby is trying his best to recover from gas and constipation,if still he is gasy then only continue.
about constipation, how about reducing the amt of eggs in your diet. chicken is also considered hot (correct me) as to my knowledge and increases body heat, and eggs are hot too,,,they both have been a cause for constipation and gas if taken too often,,instead replace more vegies in your diet.even though its your staple diet, your baby might be sensitive to it. i remember myself feeling gassy with boiled eggs even though i had alot of black pepper on it !
about constipation, if you are unable to find plums, soak the raisins and try them.if i were you i will give abit of spinach soup to my baby first,,then giving raisins,,as raisins are nothing but black grapes, and they are citrus..and compared to spinach, spinach is an excellent fiber to remove constipation & doesnt give any refluxes, its mild food.,,just 2spoons of boiled, finely purreed & seived(ensure all hard fibres that can choke baby are removed) spinach with some overboiled rice. try introducing that as semisolids (overboiled rice, blend it in mixie, add spinach, and offer). if constipation goes off, often gas is reduced..
so check on that.
you have prob of gas, with dal, then add methi seeds with your dal. add a sauted garlic to your tadka of dal, also add a dash of italian seasonings or oregano or ajma in your dal,and you wont find it gassy..still if you find it, it means your bodies are sensitive to proteins which is often found in dals/lentils..reduce the amts of them.
for 5month old, goin without poop for 3days, is abit more. even though bm contains water, in summers and depnding on acitivity levels, babies do need an extra feed of water.higher the activity level,as seen your baby,at 3months crawling, higher the burning of calories, and more sweating esp in summers..you will b suprised to knw that babies sweat and throw out waterr double the times of adult body does.in terms of pee, poop, or by drooling when teething/saliva, or by sweating.
babies above 3months are given water, no probs..just make sure its not replacing bm, and give water 30mins after the feed or between the feeds.
if you are not able to supply good bm to her, start her to formula,i have known parents who were willing to wait to start solids at 6months and until then gave formula. ask your dr about which formula is right for your baby,,since he is already suffering from gas and constipation, your dr may recommend you formula without iron, however it depends on your baby growth as well.
add in more vegies in your diet, reduce eggs and chicken,, and add a clove of garlic(sauted in ghee, with every serving of rice), and 1 clove of garlic in dal(whenever you make)...eat wholemoong or moong dal, if toor dal is gassy...go for lighter diet/dals..
moong are great fibre. and i would say add in to your diet, as your diet doesnt have dal. make sometimes boiled moong with more water and soupy consistency, with tadka of ghee,a garlic, jeera and hing, with some curry leaves..
make the other day, same with sprouted ones,,,
add extra spinach (spinach mushroom, spinach tofu, spinach with dal wont be gassy, spinach with potato might be abit gassy, spinach with boiled black channa, spinach with green/sweet bell peppers or capscicums) to your diet as well.its high in iron plus its a great fibre..
also, take boiled carrot juice, add in some tadka of ghee and a pinch of hing or a bit of black rock salt(its tasty).
for apple too, how about boiled apple with a dash of ginger pwder or a lil ginger in it,add in some figs if you get them they are excellent source of fibre..also if you like add in apricot, its a bit tangy taste, appricots are excellent in fibre.! it will nullify the constipated effect that raw apple gives.
other than that, i dont see nething else, from all you wrote.so hope these works.continue the massage and cycle her legs with your hands,,,it will help her relieve gas...results arent immediate for things like massage, and some exercises,,but they are beneficial.give your baby time to work out :)
you cant get slim with a week or months exercise,,right !
some babies were out of constipation and gas when they started crawling or walking,as mobile activity levels were desired for their bodies..so if thats the case, i guess we have to wait and watch.
so hope it works, and let meknow,,
take care, dont panic, have patience & remember onething, being mother is very hard, sometimes it costs us more than our frustrating levels,,we just need to increase our tolerance levels of frustrations :),,thats wat i have known from my experience.
take care & lots of love to your lil one.
