This is anitha, finally we all got our tonsure done at tirumala on 25th aug as planned... as it was not a vow for me to get my tonsure done at tirumala, my mom decided to cut some good length of hair before we proceed to tirumala inorder to make sowri... on 24th aug my mom combed my hair and tied my hair at cheek length and advised me not to shake while she cuts my hair.. she then took the scissor and placed above the ponytail and started cutting my hair soon in 5 mins time my ponytail was cut from my head and was left with cheek length hair, i felt my head was very light as huge chunck of hair has already got cut...i tried making ponytail with the remaining hair but in vain..i was crying for a while seeing my long ponytail that was cut but my parents consoled saying i will not have this hair also from tommorrow... and the hair will grow back in few months...we reached triupati on 25th morning and kept our luggages inthe cottage we booked and rested for a while.. then my dad asked us to get ready and procced to the kalayankatta for our tonsure...
as we reached the tonsure hall my dad got 4 tokens.. and handed over 3 to us. i got a different barber and my mom and sis got the same barber.. we 3 then proceeded to the ladies tonsure hall... my mom asked me to wait in the queue to get mottaied first as i had small length of hair... after waiting for a while my turn came and i handed over my token and blade to the barber and sat before her... she then poured water on my hair and massaged my head and then bent my head down and started from the crown...soon my hair started sliding down my shoulder into my lap...i was sobbing for a while and soon in few minutes my head was shaved completed and i got up with my mottai done.then we proceed to another queue for my mom and sis mottai... after 40 mins my sis chance came.. the barber made two knots after massaging her hair as she had good amount of hair to be shaved and started the shave.. as soon as she felt the razor shaving her hair.. and the left knot fell down on her lap she was crying helplessly during the whole process even after my mom' s attempt to console her.. then it was my mom' s turn and the same process was followed and she was bald in 7 mins time...all of us left the tonsure hall and it was strange to see 4 of us with bald head with in couple of hours... after our bath amma applied chandanam on our head and both of them were consoling us stating it was for our good and should not mind our look as we had offered our hair to god...it was very strange to look at the bald head with yellow patches.. dad didnt allow us to wear the scarf stating that we need to go with our bald head into temple for darshan...we had a good darshan and back to chennai..except me everyone will be growing their hair right away.. my mom has planned to shave my head once in a week for a month' s time and then monthly once for 3 months based on her friends advise to treat dranddruff.. and asking me to get accustomed to the look as i need to sport it for nearly 4 months before i start growing my hair...my friends and classmates were teasing me a lot on the first day.. and also touched my mottai...i miss my long hair that too when i see my long ponytail that was cut few days back... my dad today applied some shaving lotion on my head and using a razor he shaved my head couple of times till my head become very smooth... myself and my sis wear scarf when we go out but my mom has got accustomed to the bald look she moves around without any scarf...i really egear for the day when i will be allowed to grow my hair...

How was the bald experience till Dec 09 when you first had weekly tonsures and then monthly tonsures? I think by now you would have about two to three inches of hair. Are you going to grow it to full length now or are you going for a nice boycut with clippers? Please reply. Dont worry,be happy.Getting tonsured is one the best methods to get rid of dandruff but should be done systematically.I ll share u my exp my id is archana4ever gmail.Ihave also tonsured when i was i my final mba.so dont worry about the comments. Radha replied. Anitha, it is great to learn that you all have tonsured. I strongly suggest that you go around bald without covering your head. You will feel shy only for a few minutes. Hold your head up and smile at those who look at you a second time and that is it. And that is what I did whenever I have got tonsured. The great feeling it gives to show off your bald head is something to be experienced only.
Also it is good that the skin on the head gets some morning sunshine to make it healthy. This may reduce or even eliminate dandruff. Advise your sis also to enjoy going around with a bald head. sunidhi replied. Hey Anitha.. you should be happy about your tonsure. You know what, am in a relationship and day before yesterday only, disclosed my innermost desire to my boyfriend. Chances of us getting married are very slim..but if this wish gets fulfilled, I am planning to go for my tonsure process.. He said he' ll be supportive and thereafter, will take me to a barber' s shop to get me a cute boyish cut after I grow back my hair.How I wish I could get frequent head shaves like you..I want to experience the feeling. Lord Venkateshwara is great.. I believe in Him, we are all at His mercy.. The day I get my tonsure, will tell the barber to shave it again so as to help me getting rid of dandruff problem!! First i would like to congrats u for ur clean head shave with ur family in tirumala and also thnx for sharing ur experience for ur visit to tirumala.Well being me a non-Hindu i love to visit tirumala wanna have head shave wanna do pooja and all he procedure u do over there still i am unmarried but want to continue the same to visit tirumala after my marriage with my wife and will convince her to get the head shave in tirumala, my question is can i do this being a non hindu? waiting for ur reply and also wanna share with u some more personal points thru mail... pls advice.
