Hi there all of U....
This is Shannu here again.... Hope that everybody is doing fine.... All the Would B mommies seem to B real busy since the Big Day is coming near near and near.. :-))
About myself...am in a fix rt now.....I had an appointment with the Doc last evening.... I am worried abt one new thing now.... After I was diagnosed to B having GD.... I was told to control my diet real well.... I was following a strict diet and because of that my weight seems to B the same during the last 2 months..... Sterday the Doctor was a bit concerened and he took an Ultrasound to check the baby's weight gain......and told me that the baby weighs around 3.8 pounds....Thats around 1.5 kgs.... Am really worried.... Will the baby gain another 3-4 pounds in these 5-7 weeks? The Doc has asked me to increase my calorie intake. I have no idea as to what to eat so that Sugar level is in ctrl and the calories I take is also more..... I have decided to take more amt of milk.... Anybody having any info reg this...Please let me know at the earliest....Ok? Am really worried....

Hey there Roma....
Its good to hear from U da...... I am a bit relieved to hear from U.... I was so worried abt the baby's weight.... But now I think its okay and I can give it some more time..... Lets hope for the best.....
I think I will have another Ultrasound in the next Appt.....
Abt the diet.... I have taken up eating Eggs... I did put on a lot of weight during the first 2 trimis.... Almost more than 22 pounds.... But from the past two months.... its come to a halt...... Hoping for the best.... I will surely let U know if I find some change by following some diet... Ok? Meanwhile Take care of Urself...

Even I am too much concerned with my weight gain. It has been very slow and very less. I have gained 3 pounds only in the last 2 months. While should be gaining a pound a week.
I also had an ultrasound in my 32nd week and weight of baby was 3 lbs 10 ounces. Was told that it is a ok wt. Not too low. should expect a baby between 6 & 7 pounds. Babies do gain a lot of wt. in the end.
Even I am in a fix as to how to gain wt. Eggs have good fat,protein and less carbs. Eat a couple in a day.Take full cream milk but watch out as milk also has carbs.Nuts are good too. Cheese is good too.
Cannot help you more as even I am in a fix. But I have noticed that even if I eat more / eat outside it hardly increases wt.
WHat has been your total wt. gain in pregnancy till now?

Shannu.
Its not advisable to stay put in the same weight for 2 months. even if u have GD, u have to gain weight, that ensures the baby growth. Last trimester is very important for the growth.
Increase your intake. My friend had GD and she gave birth to a very healthy 7.2 lbs baby.
This used to be her daily diet
Breakfast- I big bowl of cereal(don't add sugar to milk) or 2 eggs
U can have 1 glass of fresh juice-the one u will blend at home, buy some oranges, and prepare it urself.

Lunch- one cup rice, lot of ghee, one large serving of dhaal, a big bowl of vegetables, and a lot of curd.

Snacks- Eat a lot of cheese, may be on crackers with toppings, or just plain cheese. You could also eat cashews, Almonds and other dry nuts. good amount of fat, low fat yogurt(colombo, dannon, but check the sugar content)

Dinner-eat very early dinner, abt 6:30, 2 chapathis and sabji, curd.

drink abt 2 glasses of milk in the night b4 u got to bed.

I think this is a very well balanced diet. and U shud really se a lot improvement.
Its needless to say, you have to exercise very regularly, don't feel lazy to do it. do ur stretch exercises and go for atleast 30 mins walk.

I am really very thankful for the info da..... I will try and follow the diet that U have mentioned.... Hope that my baby gains weight real Quick then....
I do a bit of walking everyday... But thats it.... Nothing more..... As U said I am Quite lazy da....
Whats up with U? How R U doing ?And what abt the baby? Ur date is coming real near.....Excited? Take care of Urself and B in touch... .Thnx once again for the info.... Take care
