Boy cut is very easy to maintain for ladies. Now a days ladies are changing from long hair to boy cut like gents.
If u like very close cut like military cut u may cut it.

It' s good to hear that you got the haircut that you liked. How long was your hair before the haircut ? Did the parlour lady firt chopped using scissors and then used the clippering machine ? how short you got cut at the sides and back ? do you mean to say it' s half an inch ? one more question - Do parlours have /use clipering machine if you want it ? boy cut for self

Dear Pooja, read my messages in this board since Apr 2008.
I had my head tonsured fully last month and currently I have about half inch hair all over. I intend to grow it to whatever length it grows for the next four years.
I had also tonsured in July 2008 and in the one year I sported a crew cut / boy cut with sides and back closely clippered to skin. And I enjoyed it immensely. I may return to that style after four years.
You say you are a college student. Did not your parents object to your chopping of your tresses?

Pooja´ s short hair

It is very nice to know that you have cut your hair very short. You were saying something called ´ Pixie cut´ . From whatever I have seen in the web this style leave about 3 to 4 inches of hair on top. But you say your hair was cut to about half inch with clippers all over. Then this is more of a crew cut. Anyway it looks great on women. And I am happy to know that you intend to keep it that way.
I suggest that next time you make the sides and back about quarter inch shorter than that on top.
By the way what is your age? Are you married? If so has your husband accepted your short hair? Are you employed? If so how have your colleagues reacted to your new appearance? Please elaborate.

that is so nice of you preeti.i got a pixie cut just before 2 hours.oh my god a very huge bun of me hair was cut and it fell right on my lap.i just couldnt stop my tears.but after bob cut i was smiling.then i asked her if pixie cut suits me.she said yes and she cut my whole hair using clipper machine.now my hair is only 1/2 inch..oohhf i am so excited to see every minute in mirror.ill keep this haircut forever.i just loved it

It´ s good to hear that you are comfortable with what you got. Generally, when people get short haircuts , after few days, they just repent for their act. It happens mainly because of other´ s reaction. It is also surprising to me that you got it cut using clippers and the parlour also gave you one. Weren´ t others surprised in the parlour shocked and surprised ?

really thanks for the courage you all gave me.i ffinally choppped off all my hair.the sound when clippering my hair was amazing and also the final usage of blade at the edges is so amazing.i love to do the blade thing very often from now

Hi,

short pixie is definitely going to give a feminine look and it may leave the same amount of hair after your haircut ( 4-5 inches, 2-3 inches at sides and back or even more). Generally the shortness depends on how short one wants to go and how can it be styled elegantly. If getting a short haircut is your goal, then you can decide how short you want to go. For gents, it will be just 1 or even 1/2 inch or no hair at the sides and back.

If you ask for opinion, short pixie may be a better choice but do consult your beautician before getting a cut. You should be comfortable at the end of the day with your cut. Decide your style mentally before taking the plunge.
