My 2 n half month old baby sleeps only around 10 hrs in a day.. initially, she never used to sleep in the night, but now, we started massaging her during bedtime, and she started sleeping..
But, for the past 3 days, she suddenly starts crying around 9 in the night, till 10 or so.. and, she falls asleep after that. I am worried abt the intensity of crying. She screams at top of her voice, in such a high pitch that I feel she might hurt her throat. The only time I heard her cry like this was when she had to take an injection.. I got worried, checked whether there was any insect bite and all... But, there was nothing. Then, i tried bathing her, and she stopped for some time. Once that was over, she again started screaming hysterically.. This has been hapenning at the same time in the night ,for the past 3 days..
She was little colicky initially (Was fussy, but not crying ).. But, once she was around one and half month old, she was pretty normal, and, i haven't seen any symptoms of colic till now..
So, I wonder what is the reason behind her crying...

the sentence that you wrote that when you bathe her, she is ok then she again starts to cry, which means, 1.she needs to be calmed, babies as young as 2.5months old need to sleep atleast 14hours a day,,or if less , come back to 12 hours, atleast, but 10hours is less.
try making her sleep in day, she is getting overtired after a long day and less sleep. some babies are hyperactive and need to be calmed by either bath,,some good music, some talks or just reading books, although they dont understand anything of it, but the melody of music,the calmness of your voice settles them. also, being summer on peak right now, try giving her bath twice a day, once just with water, and the other big bath at night with all massage, soap or shampoo.
your baby was colicky, there could be a possibility that still he/she faces the same prob..change your diet with light food, lots of fluids,less spicy foods, and at 2.5months if your baby is not given any other medication for colic or gas by your dr, then only give gripe water, once in 2 days, or a week only as required..
other than all this, i dont see nething else that can concerns me,and sometimes babies just want to cry to get attention and get the warmth or cuddling from parents. and its very obvious in baby who is 2.5months old !
and his sight now is clearing up, soon by 3months he will be able to see everything clear with all colours instead of black and white shades, which means he will be vunerable to lots of looking around and often its tiring for them,,,keep the lights in your home, esp in baby room, dim,,,babies until 4months like a little light.i rem my baby crying out of control for 2 hours after 2 months,whenever we visited big malls...for them its new nd big world.she stopped when she got used to it.
if crying continues more than 1 hour, then call your dr, he might want to look at your baby...
