Due Date Club December 2006:update

Hello everybody,

I had my appointment today morning. Everything was fine. But, I did not gain weight... instead lost half a pound weight. Doctor wrote in her book as a complaint: Insufficient Weight gain :(

I am now 18.2weeks. Last time I had my appointment when I was 13.3weeks. By now, I should weigh 4 pounds more than what I was last time. Instead, I lost weight . Is this of any concern? However, heart beat of the baby and my BP levels are normal. She suggested that by next visit, I MUST put on weight.

Girls, please help me how to put on weight. I heard some women doesn't gain weight till 20weeks and sudden keep increasing from then. Is this true? I hope experienced moms can tell me about this.

I gave blood sample for AFP test in the lab. I think results will come after 2 weeks.

Good thing is, I scheduled an ultrasound for day after tomorrow :) Eagerly waiting to tell you my update again!!

Hope everybody is doing great!!

Belly rubs,
blessed_mom

Dear Blessed_Mom,

Nice to know things are fine. Abt weight gain dont worry much. In the 1st trimester even I lost 8-10 pounds and my doc asked my husband whether I was eating or not. LOL. But remarkably in my last 16th week visit I put on 6 pounds.

What I cud say is eat well. Include a lot of fruits & vegetables in ur diet. Drink milk and include protiens(my doc always stresses on having a lot of proteins) I hope ur nausea has subsided, this is the best time to go on an eating spree:))

Even I have given for AFP, good luck with the test and update us after ur u/s

Cheers,
Leo

I am one of those who did not gain a single pound till week 20. Now I am afraid I am gaining too much. I have not changed my eating patterns. My doc was not worried about either condition (so far).
