Hi,

I am kamala, residing in visak,our family astroleger has suggested to get our daughter' s head shaved at palani as part of parigaram so that she can get good alliance for marriage.my hubby is insiting that all the 3 will get our head shaved at palani soon as possible. my daughter is 24 yrs old and she is refusing to get her head tonsure done at palani stating that she has good length and volume of hair and afraid of going bald at this age. pls suggest me on how to convince my daughter to get her head shaved as even for me this would be the first headshave. or is it okay to compel her and get her tonsure completed.Also is there any method to ensure faster hair growth after the head shave

My sister had just then got a job and had told that she would get married only after two or three years. She is very close to me and likes to do whatever I do. So when my tonsure vow was made she also said she would shave along with me. She happily did so and went to her job sporting her bald head.
As for my sils, each had been tonsured once in four or five years as per their family tradition and they felt joyful every time they got tonsured. They thought nothing of going around bald. So none of the females was forced for the tonsure.

I was also in the same situation 2yrs back but my parents got my head shaved in tirupathi and after that i got a good proposal and now i am happily married..so ask ur daughtr to do it soon..if pos i wil send my shave pics 2 ur daughtrs id 2 boast her confidence..

I am happy to know that you got tonsured first and then got a good proposal. How long was your hair when the bridegroom and his family saw you and accepted you and how long was your hair when you got married? What explanation did you give for your short hair to the groom side?
I had a similar situation to you and Kamala´ s daughter. But my parents told our astrologer that thought the ´ dosha´ would have been removed by tonsure, not many grooms would look at a bald girl. So the groom search has to take place two to three years later. Since already I was 26, my parents suggested an alternative: that I would go to Tirumala, symbolically cut off a few strands and take a vow that I would shave off fully within three months of marriage. And the astrologer said that we could try that. So reluctantly I made the vow. But within three weeks after returning from Tirumala I got a very nice proposal. My mother told them about the tonsure vow. Instead of accepting it solemnly, the would be mother-in-law was very joyful. She said she would be very happy to take me to Tirumala at the earliest and get me tonsured. After marriage, I said earlier the better. Hence just two weeks after the marriage, both the families went to Tirumala and eleven people (both my parents, my younger brother and college going sister, my husband, his parents, his brother and his two college going sisters) returned bald headed. While it was the first tonsure for the females of our family (including me) it was a regular thing in my in-laws family. After that tonsure I felt so joyful, that since then I have got tonsured in Tirumala two more times once every five years. I am looking forward to my next tonsure in two years time.
So Kamala´ s daugter should take some courage and decide to get tonsured. It is really a joyful thing to go bald once in while. Either she can follow your example or mine.

i saw your postings.you explained to your daughter to accept head shave.but in future you on that time if anything goes wrong you feel about this.
hi sister accept for head shave go and sit before the barber just three mins three or four months you hair will grow.

When Astrologer suggested that your daughter will get good alliance if she shaves, then she should go ahead but not on unwillingly. she should be convinced and should be accepted if she believies on it, otherwise she should not. According to my opinion.
