when i was 9 yr old i was tonsured and my ears were pierced.being from an orthodox south indian family,i had to undergo all these rituals.on the day of my 9th b.day,we all,went to banks of cauvery river,where there is a temple.we arrived there at 8 am.after breakfast there itself,we had to register ourself,and the cermony began.we proceded to the river bank,close to the river.then we my mother choose a rock for us to sit.then a the asaricame.she asked me to remove my clothes,i was a little hesitant,but i had to strip.then she tied a rope arund my waist.then she made me sit on my sister' slap.i was very embarresed and i protested.a tight slap from my sister,made me sit on her lap.after applying some oil and water on my head,the asari split my hair into two.the crude razor met my head and ate my hair.my scalp was burning.after shaving the left side of my scalp ,she proceede to the right.then she examined my bald head for some time.after being impressed,she allowed me to bathe, my mother bathed me.then she applied sandal paste on my head.then came the piercing.on a coal stow,the asari had made two needlesred hot.then she asked me to sit on the rock .then she handed the pair of needles to my sister and told her to pierce my ear lobe.the asari marked a point in my lobe with a black pen.the my sister brought the red hot needles together in my lobe.a hole was formed.a sharp stinging pain arouse,i started crying.after pacifying, the other ear was pierced.then a pair of gimmiki was put in my ear.the feeling of the the earring tugging my lobe was painful.afterwards my mother gave me a pair of anklets
my sister put them on my leg.i was very embarrased ,i looked like a girl with a bald head.then the asari tied a loin cloth to cover my bare genitals,.then the ceremony was complete.i endured this for 3 yrs.

what do u guys think,i feel these ceremonies should be made optional or something! anirudha replied. were u nude during shave who shaved u brber or goldsmith. bzoc u mention

From your message I understood that you were not really interested at all for the whole of the rituals which was performed. Can you tell me how old are you now. And do you have the earings still in your ears or you have removed that?
