This is a poem a friend sent me after my baby died, I thought some of you may enjoy it. I know it gave me strength

FOR MY BABY

I THOUGHT OF YOU AND CLOSED MY EYES; AND PRAYED TO GOD TODAY I ASKED WHAT MAKES A MOTHER AND I KNOW I HEARD HIM SAY....

\";A MOTHER HAS A BABY, THIS WE KNOW IS TRUE.\";

BUT GOD, CAN YOU BE A MOTHER, WHEN YOUR BABY'S NOT WITH YOU?

\";YES, YOU CAN\"; HE REPLIED WITH CONFIDENCE IN HIS VOICE. \";I GIVE MANY WOMEN BABIES, WHEN THEY LEAVE IS NOT THEIR CHOICE. SOME I SEND FOR A LIFETIME; AND OTHERS FOR A DAY AND SOME I SEND TO FEEL YOUR WOMB; BUT THERE'S NO NEED TO STAY.\";

I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS, GOD, I WANT MY BABY HERE.

HE TOOK A BREATH AND CLEARED HIS THROAT; AND THEN, I SAW A TEAR. \";I WISH I COULD SHOW YOU, WHAT YOUR CHILD IS DOING TODAY. IF YOU COULD SEE YOUR CHILD SMILE WITH OTHER CHILDREN AND SAY:

WE GO TO EARTH TO LEARN OUR LESSON'S OF LOVE AND LIFE AND FEAR, MY MOMMY LOVED ME OH SO MUCH, I GOT TO COME STRAIGHT HERE... I FEEL SO LUCKY TO HAVE A MOM, WHO HAD SO MUCH LOVE FOR ME
I LEARNED MY LESSON VERY QUICKLY, MY MOMMY SET ME FREE.

I MISS MY MOMMY OH SO MUCH; BUT I VISIT HER EACH DAY. WHEN SHE GOES TO SLEEP, ON HER PILLOW IS WHERE I LAY I STROKE HER HAIR AND KISS HER CHEEK, AND WHISPER IN HER EAR. MOMMY, DON'T BE SAD TODAY, I'M YOUR BABY AND I'M HERE.

\";SO, YOU SEE, MY DEAR SWEET ONE, YOUR CHILDREN ARE OKAY YOUR BABIES ARE HERE IN MY HOME; AND THIS IS WHERE THEY'LL STAY. THEY'LL WAIT FOR YOU WITH ME, UNTIL YOUR LESSON IS THROUGH. AND ON THE DAY THAT YOU COME HOME; THEY'LL BE AT THE GATES FOR YOU.

SO, NOW YOU SEE WHAT MAKES A MOTHER, IT'S THE FEELING IN YOUR HEART IT'S THE LOVE YOU HAD SO MUCH OF; RIGHT FROM THE VERY START. THOUGH SOME ON EARTH MAY NOT REALIZE ,YOU ARE A MOTHER THEY'LL BE UP WITH ME ONE DAY; AND THEY'LL KNOW YOU'RE THE BEST ONE EVER.\";

Hi Radha,

I too lost my son after 28 wks on Jan 1st,2006 and your poem is making me cry while I'm sitting at work.I can totally understand when you say that having another baby has become an obsession.What caused your little girl to pass away? I had a severe placental abruption and according to doctors , my baby passed away in matter of hours.

Hi Radha,
thanks for sharing this poem with me. it almost made me cry, but it is so so so true. I was just wanted to write the same thing to before. To my sis we told the same thing that the baby perhaps went to the better place than earth. I really liked the poem though. We can feel while reading it.

As for me, we went to the doc, the test is faint faint +ve. So doc did not confirm the pregnancy and said to give the blood test. So I went on Fri last week, so I shall know sometime this week. But when she did the U/S the uterus looked healthy, but empty. Also, I read that having lower HCG level is not good. With low HCG levels pregnancy is hard to maintain in the early period of first trimester. I am sooooooo scared and do not want to miscarry again. I will be devastated. I have good symtoms, tender breasts, frequent urination, very tired, but hope all these good symptoms continue. My last period was 2nd Jan and my cycle is of 33 days...hoping for the best! Thanks for giving me lovely support. I wish all the best for you and hope you get a nice surprise also. >>>

RE:Coping With a Miscarriage
Infertility is a very hard thing to hit a woman. I can't imagine what it must be like. My sister went through it. She was told that she was infertile by her doctor. Her husband was a doctor too, but besides all the knowledge they could do nothing. Then they tried going for IVF. At first they were resistant, they were double minded. But then my sister went to various fertil... - Lillian [View Message]

RE:Coping With a Miscarriage
Hey! I hope you are doing well. Miscarriages are a terrible thing that can happen to a family. It is like your dream of having a child and the next moment it is all gone. There are various reasons why miscarriages happen. But I do not think that miscarriages should affect the relationship. It is the responsibility of the husband to understand that no one is at fault. RE:Three miscarriages in a year...
Hey Richa, hope you are doing well. I am sorry to hear about it.I know what you have gone through. Toughest period is when one is TTC.The worst part is the miscarriages and 3 of them makes it even more hard to cope with. I agree with your husband and would advice you to take a break also. Try to regain your health.Rushing into things wont solve them. Consult a specialist a... - katherine [View Message]
