Health Concerns:Slight Spotting/Queasy feeling

I am in my 15th week of pregnancy and have been spotting slightly. I mostly see dark brown remnants when I wipe. I have also started having a very queasy feeling between my legs..mostly in the vaginal area? Is this because of the spotting or is it something to get alarmed about?

A, forgot to tell you one more thing...try drinking lots of water. You might find that the spotting reduces considerably...and avoid any exertions.

hi A,

I too had the same problem. I was very nervous when I first started spotting. I would always write to Archie to make sure everything was going fine. I also fixed a doctor's appointment. Some pregnant ladies bleed/spot if their cervix start opening or some other complication. After an internal examination, My doctor told me that everything seemed to be okay but to be on the safe side, we should go for an Ultrasound. My ultrasound was scheduled and I was just 15 weeks pregnant...the baby is too small at this stage...and it was very difficult for the doctor to check everything. But after the ultrasound exam, the doctor told me, everything seemed fine...and that my placenta was low lying and was slowly going back up...which is a good thing. Low lying placenta is quite common in early pregnancy.
A, please do not worry..take as much rest as u can.
I am so grateful to Archie who helped me through this. Just follow her advice. SHe asked me to rest. I took complete rest for 3 days..and I am quite okay now.

Thanks for your reply Archie. I had actually had an ultrasound in my 13th week and the baby's heart rate and everything else was normal. Infact, had a regular doctor visit too, where he stressed that I could carry on with my usual work. My next thorough scan is scheduled for May 17th..I hope I don't need to do another one in between.

Hi a,

Have you consult your doctor about spotting? If not will suggest you should do that first. You have another 3-4 weeks to go for schedule scaning and if Archie doubt is correct you should take rest at the earliest.

Just to keep all tension away, please get scanning done.

Regards,
Sudha

Dear A,
Looks OK to me.
Still give a call to your OB and if possible get reviewed as to heart rate is normal. I think you are likely having a low lying placenta and the bed rest recommended and strenous duties must be avoided.
Archie
