Due Date Club April 2004: a question for u???

Hello,

I dont know whether its appropriate to ask this question but I am in a very confused stage so just wanted an answer from all of you who have decided to go home for delivery (if u are staying outside India)

1) How easy was it for you to make this decision?
2) How many months are you planning to be in India?
3) Will your husband be getting more than a months leave to be near you?

For me my husband is all thrilled about this baby and I know how much he wish to be a part of this entire process. Considering this if I decide on having our baby here in US we most probably may have to do everything ourselves. If I go to India I may get all the proper care after delivery but for that I may have to decline many precious moments for my husband as he wont get more than a months leave. I also will miss his proximity very badly!!!

Please help me out with what you think is wise to do without hurting both sides and without risking our babies welfare.

lov,
Mansi

deliver the baby here and go after 2 or 3 months. that way you get to have your husband by your side during the whole birthing thing and also get help afterwards and the baby's gonna be a US citizen too ;) the first 2 months are certainly a little stressful, but usually the infant demands mother's care and so there is little that your family can do anyways. feeding and all is your work.

Dear Jenn & Diya,

Thank You so much for your comments. I really appreciate them. Though I still cant decide on what I want I think I will better wait another month or two before deciding.

Will let u know after our plan is set.

Thanks,
Mansi

Hi mansi,
Iagree with jenn's opinion. Its purely ur decision. Iam staying in singapore, and i will be going to india for my delivary. As for me my husband will be very busy in april,so he can't even spend time with me.Also our parents won't be coming here to help me. So we decided to deliver in india,so that i will get proper care. My husband won't get more than 15 days leave. Still i decided to deliver in india.
As jenn said u can go to india for delivary and can come back to u.s in one month. In that case ur husband can spend time with u and ur baby.Remember one thing that u must be in good health condition even after delivary. Because u hv to look after the baby and urself. So if u deliver in india and come back after one month both u and ur baby will get propre caring. (pardon me if i am wrong, its my point of view)>In that case ur husband will be able to spend time with baby and u. And of course the baby will Be active only after one month(Like recoganizing people, smiling, etc). So ur husband won't miss any thing.
If ur planning to deliver in u.s Prepare ur self for that. Hire any body for domestic help. Buy all the neccessary things before ur delivary,so that u can avoid travelling.
Any way both of u can decide about it after considaring the adv.and dis adv.But Don't get tensed at this time . U still hv time to make decision. Don't take any decision in a hurry. Think well and then decide.
Nothing else. Enjoy ur pregnency, Try to be happy always,
Take care
Diya

i think the decision is based on your lecvel of comfort , some like me may find it good to deliver here, as they will be continuing with the same dotor , better facilites and yes citizenship of the child,. i too am not sure if anyone is going to be here for my delivery, but iam just making myself strong and prepparing mentally to handle such a situation if the need arises. also iam checking out if i can hire a person for houshold chores for a short peiod after delivery if noones with me then,.
there are both advantanges and disadvantages ,yes you may find all the comfort in inida, so you may like to dleiver there, but as you said your husband myanot be able to spend a lot of time with you there.
well, one other thing you could do is dleiver here and then go to india within a month(if thats possible after consulting your docotr)or other way round like deliver in india and come over here within a monht so you husband can be with the baby.
In the end the decison has to be done by you and based on your priorites.,.,.
good luck with that. hope this helps.
