Our body is gifted with the intelligence which recognises self from non-self. Calcium tablets are synthetic chemicals and 90% of them get rejected in your urine, making it \";expensive urine\";! Try an experiment to understand by your own enlightenment. For a 2-3 days eat just fruits and leafy vegetables. Notice color and taste of early morning self-urine. Now add calcium tablets or any multivitamins. Next day see the change in color and taste of self urine!

The best way to restore Calcium/Magnesium/Potassium to the body is through green leafy veggies. Calcium in present in the plant pigment chlorophyll so plant foods are rich in this mineral. Active Vitamin D can also enhance mineral absorption. Hence morning sunlight which is safe, can be enjoyed daily 10-15 minutes on your skin. NO need to bare the body entirely. Hands, legs, face is adequate.

One note of caution: Excess use of calcium tablets given to arthritis patients have caused kidney or bladder stones!!
Rotate all leafy vegetables, do not get stuck on one only.

Dear Jessica,
Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Calcium is must in pregnancy so don't avoid it.

It can howevere results in some additional complications like Constipation and kidney stones in some cases.

Drinking plenty of water more than 8 glasses a day is must in pregnancy. This will help
1. to keep you hydrated
2. Keep away from constipation, which can also be induced by pregnancy hormones
3. keep kidney function normal and no risk of kidney stones after delivery.

Hope I have helped.
Archie

Dear All,

I'm Dr. Meghna Bharath. I'm a strong proponent of Natural Birthing.

In the run-up to becoming a Mom myself, I prepared for Natural birth and delivered naturally. Recently I encouraged and supported my younger sister and close friends deliver naturally as well [through remote advice, since we were across a 10-hour timezone :)].
