Hi,

Just wanted some info from USA moms.
My husband is visiting NY on official trip in April. I was just wondering if I cud use this chance to get something for the baby.. which we may or may not get here in Gurgaon...
example..
1. Shoulder strap bag to carry the baby
2. Nappies?
i realy cant think of anything more (first baby !!) :-(
Can you give me tips pls?

Hi Shalini.. all the shops you mentioned will have these items.

Walmart and Kmart are good stores to get this kind of stuff. Baby depot is good too.

As for Toysrus it is good too but I recommend Babiesrus as that is just the kind of shop you' ll find ' everything' you need to shop for your baby. However, Walmart, baby depot and Kmart have reasonable rates and you might be paying lesser (on certain items)in these shops than in the toysrus/babiesrus.

Walmart , kmart, Babies r us, Target, Baby depot are just the kind of shops that you' ll find stuff for your little one here. I don' t think I have shopped in any other shop besides these for the kind of list you have.

Mom.

Thanks for all the valuable suggestions.. I am really happy !!
A BIGGGG DOUBT: (this is from my husband :-)) Are these baby stuff available in Walmart, Kmart etc ? Or should he look for them in specific shops? I think baby toys and stuff are good in toys ' r' us, but what about the other stuff??

I suddenly remembered this and couldn' t wait to add.

' ear thermometer' .

It is extremely useful and will go a long way down the road till your little one' s tot years. It is so handy especially when you get to check the temp. through the ear when there is fever and you won' t be bothering your little one a whole lot too. I had bought one for my sis inlaw too as she wanted to get one for her kiddo. I highly recommend it.

goodluck. - Mom.

Besides what xxx suggested, here are a few I can think of.

Bottles -(if u plan to bottle feed at any point)
Breast pump.
Bouncer -(this one is almost a must with most families here as it is damn handy. You' ll believe it only when you use it!)
Sippy Cups.
And the list can go on... but these are just a few things that came to my mind.

Goodluck !

From a Mom.

congrats.
shoulder strap bags, i think u get in india too. but if u want, u can buy from here.

nappies..i wont suggest. is it diapers that u r saying abt? if yes, then i wud rather not buy it. bcoz it will occupy a lot of apce and ultimately how many days will it last?

instead, u can get nice quilts, blankets, clothes, booties etc. clothes u can even but in some bigger sizes so the bbay can wear them for longer time.

also if buying clothes, dont buy for 0 mnths even if your baby is yet to come. bcoz he/she will grow out of them very very fast.

u can get baby lotions/creams too.
