Weight:overweight and expecting...scared...

Hello all...

I am currently in the 8th week of my pregnancy.I have already had a miscarriage in 2009.I am overweight right now at 85 kgs.I am scared about my weight gain through the entire pregnancy.I was trying to loose weight and conceived before coming to correct weight.My doctor has already run me through a Glucose Tolerance Test-1hour.she has also put me on progestrone tablets..The reports were all fine due to God' s blessing.

1.what diet can I take/steps that I can follow to stay healthy in this pregnancy?
2.Has anyone here given birth to healthy children with such weight issues..

Hi kr
I wouldnt worry too much about being overweight at this moment in time, the babys development and health are more important. But that does not mean you eat for 2, you eat as much as u can as u feel the need to. Im again surprised at the progesterone tablets, I had a miscarriage before I had my first child 10 years ago then I had 2 more one in 2006, one in 2007, before I fell pregnant in 2008, and gave birth to a healthy baby. Here in the uk we believe that miscarriage can be normal and woman are given a few chances to allow their bodies to naturally be pregnant with out any medication unless there is a definate health risk. AND to keep your weight healthy I suggest you take yoga for pregnant woman and every evening take long walks as far as you can handle, gently exercise is key, also try and cook healthy meals at home, take out noodles/pasta/pizza is not healthy unless you know how the chinese, and italians know how to cook, but once in a while is ok.
Weight is always an issue, and you are not alone, but if you take a sensible approach and try not to worry, your children will be fine, but Im not sure about the progesterone.
