rachna replied. Hi, I have just started my 10th week & had very bad nausea (vomitting 8-10 times a day) for the last 4 weeks ...cd. not put down any food, none of the medicines helped me...however what I discovered today was really miraculous. I just popped some mint chewing gums after my meals & lo! am not feeling nausea at all...am just not letting out the gum of my mouth & just chewing on..and that has really helped me...do try this!!!

rachna replied. what has also worked with me is \" keeping myself busy\" . If I am really into work esp. at office, I almost forget the feeling..at home I vomit much more..so try & drwon yourself in work though you need to balance the physical demands of your work..one cannot over exert in the first few months..also I have noticed my nausea is going down after completing 8 weeks, I guess it is really peak between 5-8 weeks period!!!
sweta replied. Hi All,
Congratulations on your preg....
I am in my 18 weeks and I never had nausea or vomitting problem... I used to drink coconut water almost everyday during my first three months...
Yesterday, I came across one message in Sept 2007 board regarding coconut water and its benefits in controlling nausea... copy and pasting the same here.. do read and hope it works for you because now I feel as I was drinking coconut water almost everyday, I never experience nausea or vomitting.. Hope this helps..

During the 1st trimester if we drink it,I' ve heard, that it reduces morning sickness.Reason- as Coconut water is rich in pottassium it corrects the electrolyte imbalance caused by repeated vomiting n thereby corrects to a considerable extent Nausea. So we can safely drink it from the first trimester only.
Tender coconut is also rich in vitamins n minerals.Even otherwise we can drink tender coconut, coz again like u said, its god for our baby' s complexion.I also read this- Eating coconut kernel with palm sugar during pregnancy helps in child' s growth & easy Delivery.
Following are tips for pregnant women stated in ayurveda:
* Pregnant women must drink a lot of milk and coconut water.
* Ghee extracted from cow milk taken regularly is good forpregnant women.
* The coconut water or milk consumed is beneficial if taken with mixed sugar, turmeric and saffron.
* White flesh of coconut is healthy for the mother and the fetus.
Tender coconut water tends to flush out the system and cools the body. It is a rich source of potassium.
Theresz no necessity of drinking coconut water daily. If u drink twice or thrice in a week it wud suffice.

Ananya replied. I am 6 weeks pregnent with my second and i have the same thing going on... I have food aversion... There is no food that apeals to me right now. On top of it i have nausea and feeling of vomiting. My work is quiet demanding as well which leaves me with no energy by end of the day
I read a few things about this...Crackers i heard will help... Also any ginger related stuff, ginger snaps, gingerale or anything... Sip on it or chew on it when you feel nauseated...
To sidestep nausea caused by smells and odors outside your home, tuck a hankie doused with a combination of lavender and peppermint oil into a small plastic bag and keep in your purse. At the first hint of nausea, hold the hankie to your nose and breathe deep for almost instant nausea relief
Hope that helps... Congratulations to all expecting moms

Prashu replied. hi,
I have nausea feeling too esp. in the mornings. And top it all I go to work and everyday I' ll think maybe I should take off today. Luckily what happened for me is that I don' t have vomitting (I usually get vomit when I' m brusing my teeth) and after that I feel nausea but no vomits so I try to eat very slowly just to be careful. I hate food these days but I know we have to eat.
For my first baby I never had nausea so I eat all the best foods possible and now for this poor baby I' m eating very normal food nothing too health like brocolli etc...which I did in my earlier pregnancy.
Anyways take care.
