yesterday my head was tonsured.my amma had told me the evening she was plaiting my hair .that evening when i sat in front of her for combing my hair i was surprised that she had not broght the lice comb because she generally scrubsmy hair with lice comb two times in a day.so i asked her shall i get the lice comb but she told me it was not necessary as next morning the barber was coming to shave me hearing this i started crying but she pulled my hair and scolding me told that she had made the decision and there was no use in crying now ,she told me that she was fed removing lice from my head and scolded me that i was not capble of maintaining my long hair.i could not sleep the whole night .

next morning my amma shouted for me to come out and i saw the barber sitting in the verrandah and in front of him amma had placed low stool for me to sit ,i pleadingly looked at amma and did not move ahead but seeing this my amma came forward and catching my plait pulled me and me sit in front of the barber ,the barber instructed amma to open my plaits and get hot water .my amma remove my ribbons and opened my plaits and in meanwhile my brother had brought the hot water and kept in front of me .the barber then started making my well oiled wet with water and while doing so he noticed my head infested with nits and asked amma whether this was the reason for my tonsure and amma said yes and then to my embarrasement he found 2 lice on my nape which he gave to amma who cursed me and then he tied my two buns ,he was not caring and was very rough he then pulled my head down and my tonsure started during the whole shaving my amma and he were discussing about my lice problem and amma had tried different medicines and he also told amma that shaving was best option and told amma that how is is mother used to keep his and sisters head shaved when they were small.he also told my amma that his mother had shaved his wife' s head in palani and tirumala and was plAnning to shave it next month as she had taken vow .while all this talking he was shaving my head by turning my head left to right and in all possible difficult angles crudely and my head was burning as the razor moved on my head .i felt so bad when the left side bun fell in lap after my whole head was shaved he moved hand on my bald pate and again taking razor stared scratching where some hair were left.and it burnt like anything.in 15 mts he had shaved me and amma told me to get up.i got up brushing the fallen hair from my nightie . and my brother sat in front of him for hair cut.i was still crying ,amma took me close and moving hands on my head told me that it was for my benefit.she further told me that the barber would be coming every wednesday for shaving my head till my exams were over and i just went inside. sunanda replied. hi amala

Don' t worry for your headshave of your mother.Any have you are now free from lice and your hair will grow back quicly. But tell your mother to don' t shave often i.e. every wednesday. If you shave your head regularly sometimes your hair roots may be damaged and hair growth also affected permanently. And also it put into a habit for you not like to grow hair again. And it is difficult to answer your class students for every week head shave. So leave the hair grown. But once in a month you may cut your hair like summercut or clippercut using #1 guard. It keeps little hair in your head and no chance of lice and also safe for your hair root.
