C-Section:Regular periods after c-section ?
2009-03-14
Name: Anu

I had a c-section on 10th Jan and gave birth to baby boy. So far my periods have not started at all. There used to be slight bleeding occasionally. Can someone tell me how much time it takes for regular periods to come after c-section ?

Are you breastfeeding? Sometimes full breastfeeding can delay periods but that' s fine don' t worry you have not become infertile or anything. Enjoy the freedom your body has gone thru a lot...pregnancy and a major surgery.
Talk to you gynec
And remember you may still ovulate and get pregnant, so don' t ignore your contraception plan, PLEASE!!!!!

Hi Anu

I had my C-section in Oct 08. Well my doctor says if ur breast feeding then u could get your periods either after 40 days of delivery or after 6 months depends on each one' s body.

Well mine has not yet come. But make sure you do a pregnancy test every month (advised by my doc).

You don´ t need a pregnancy test every month! Who is this money making Doc?
Your husband can use good quality condoms and you can also use TODAY made by J&J....together they will prevent an unwanted pregnancy

RE:C-Section
C-sections are planned when the mother wishes to escape the labor pain or in emergencies like if the cord is entangled around the baby's neck and the baby's life is at risk. But i think natural delivery is always a better option.... - Neeta [View Message]
