Recently (last Saturday) my MIL and FIL went to Tirupati and offered hair to the god. She explained her feelings. Friday they reached to the hill and take the room and take rest and on Saturday they went to Local temple trip and on the evening on their way back to their room, they found the Kalyanakatta was empty and decided to offer the hair. Both they have taken tickets and sit with two different barbers. The barber asked her to wet the hair and she went and wet the hair and he did not parted the hair and bent the head and started shaving, after finishing half of the hair, he took a small break to have tea for 3 minutes, during the break my mil rubbed her back part and asked the barber to finish the task immediately as she was shivering. The barber then started the process and finished without any break, then smoothen the head. Now she is looking so gorgeous. In fact it is the motivation of my hubby. earlier there was no commitment, but on the advice of my husband she offered the hair for our well being. We r also planning to go to Tirumala during May and offer our hair.
put some more experiences. saravana replied. hi did you go for tonusre this may Ram Singh replied. Lakshmi says that her hubby advised his mother to go for tonsure for the well being of the family. To support is one thing and to advise an elder, that one' s own mother, on these things is difficult to believe. Probably Lakshmi means her father in law who advised her mil to get her head shaved at Tirumala.

Anyway, it is heartening to note that Lakshmi is also planning to tonsure in May. I am eagerly waiting for her post-tonsure posting.
