does lemon helps to remove scars and spots from the face? does it have any other sideffects?

Jo Prabhu replied. Just to clarify myself, I have been a licensed US cosmetologist for 20 years. Scars are not the same as skin pigment, dark or light. Scars are caused by bruising to the skin whether it be from acne or from a cut or abrasion, however, the color of Scars can be light or dark in nature. By all means try the lemon juice which is mild in nature but could take a very long time to show any significant lightening but you may want to try it first because really is harmless. If that doesn't work, let me know so I can suggest skin lightening products that do work!

On the flip side, the bruising and indentation of your skin caused by the scars cannot be erased with lemon or other juices.
That will require either laser dermabrasion or a continued use of Alpha hydoxy acids (AHA) or BHA, which 'peel' or exfoliate the outer layers of skin in small increments and produce a much happier and significant result.
