Hi all, I have a great 1.5 yrs old son who has being going to creche for 5 months now. I have been back to work since 5 months. After the delivery I had quit my job and taking care of the kid.He goes to creche for 5-6 hours everyday . When ever I drop him to creche he cries . Now a days he is aware of the road , so he starts crying on the way itself . So I took a different road , now he is aware of the new road also .He is crying alot and it' s breaking my heart as I have to leave him crying in the arms of the girls in the creche, I generally settle him but as soon as I try to leave he cry' s BIG FAT tears. He settle' s within 10/15 minutes as I phone and he is playing happily.as I am sitting in work missing him like mad :(( I came back to work because I get paid well and I felt that the creche would be good for him to help him mingle with other kids plus I do enjoy my job. But the way I feel today I could jack it all in !! Not that I am going to. I know he is going through seperation anxiety .Does he need a therapist ? swarna replied. Sweta ,

I am also having exactly the same problem.My son (19 months old) has been going to the daycare for 2 months now.but everyday inthe morning it the same old story .But he will be ok all the way upto the place..the moment he sees the maid he starts crying .But again when i call & after an hour or so he seems to be doing perectly fine.I guess the younger kids take longer time time to get completely settled . I think just to feel good u should go visiting him @ the daycare ..maybe have a peek.If you see him playing nicely you would feel reassured.I do it often . Poonam replied. Hi
This is a common problem. Same happened with me when I used to drop my son in creche but only for few days. If he is settled after 10-15 mins, then you should not worry. Yes it hurts but you have to be strong for him. He doesn´t need any therapist. Wait for few more days. This is a phase and soon it will pass. Best of luck.
