theres this rage abt skin whitening serums and stuff...could all of u tell me in the first place,whether v have to use th cream lifetime???? its really impossible to cater such amount for a lifetime,i mean to invest once is okay...coz i m still studying nd dnt get ny paychecks of my own...the creams nd pills cost approx 35$ to 40$(maybe less or more for other products)...
sanjana replied. Why do you want to lighten your skin. Skin lightening pills are not permanent and once you stop taking them you will go back to the colour you naturally are. I suspect that they work by decreasing the amount of melanin which is the pigment that gives you your colour and over time this makes your skin fairer. The biggest side effect would be that the pigmentation is what protects you from the sun to a large extent ie people in hot countries are usually dark and without it you would need to be religious in using sun screens as otherwise you would be susceptible to un burn and run an increased risk in skin cancer.
Vitamin C does not make you lighter. The best home remedy is to use sun block or high protection sunscreen, stay out of the sun and you can use lemon and yoghurt to remove the tan.

Basically genetics determines your colouring and there is a range which your natural colouring will vary over and depending on the climate of where you live you will move within that range. If you live in a cold country with little sun over time you would go lighter to a certain point and vice versa. Generally you also get eyes, lip colour etc that blends with the colouring you have. If you move outside your natural range of colouring you generally look artificial as things stop complementing each other think Michael Jackson.

If your skin colouring is bothering you to that extent then perhaps you should take some counselling to learn to accept what you have. Indians have a lot to answer for in perpuating the stereotype that being fair with pink lips is more beautiful then anything else and this is not true. Halle Berry, Naomi Campbell, Imam are all very beautiful women with dark skin and features. Also dark skin protects for a long time against wrinkles and ageing. Also your skin will only glow when it is healthy regardless of what colour it is and skin lightening pills, bleach etc will not give you healthy skin.
